Great place on a warm evening

We were taken here when visiting family in San Jose. A fine restaurant with many places to eat, inside, semi-outside and fully outside. I had the watermelon salad to start, excellent. Followed by the devil rabbit very tasty, but a little on the small side. The fingerling potatoes some of the... read more

Had an excellent dinner. We choose the price-fixe with bubbles tasting. Everything was delicious. The seafood dish was fabulous. You can sit outside and enjoy the ambiance.

The restaurant has a good location. The food is good; portions are small, but professionally prepared. Staff was average polite and up to speed.

Had lunch with a friend today here. We sat outside which was really nice. The food is decent, no complaints there.

Sunset Dinners consist of a salad or soup (if it's tomato bisque, get the soup-one of the best I've ever had!), entree (Cubano pork looks oddly cube-like, but is delicious), and dessert. They are $29 and quite good! Tip: ask for a little sea salt for your soup.

Early dinner on a pleasant Sunday afternoon...dined outside on the walkway...tables available there yet completely packed inside. Seafood Risotto, Classic Caesar Salad w/Anchovies, Asparagus Burrata Salad, Lil Wellingtons, Ron Rubin Chardonnay, Frenzi Chardonnay, and Red Velvet Cake---all exceptionally delicious/perfectly prepared. Service was extremely slow for the first hour, probably because only one waitperson handled the six or seven outside tables... More

The Village Pub in Santana Row is one of the few restaurants in this area that starts serving brunch at 8:30 am (until 3 pm) on the weekend AND accepts reservations. Brunch there is one of my favorite places in the area. Don't miss the egg bruschetta - my favorite. The Brioche French Toast is also highly recommended

I went to Village California Bistro and Wine Bar with friends for lunch. We asked for water, a requirement now in San Jose. Then, I ordered a cocktail and another guest ordered the house white wine. There was no house white wine. Why not? The cocktail arrived without a garnish, but it was very good. Our water glasses were never... More

Food is good, no doubt on that, however, I ordered the Asparagus & Prawn salad, it was missing it's sunflower seeds, pea shoots & mint. Also, a slice of radish still had the root on it; when I brought this to the waiter's attention, he made light of it saying it was a healthy restaurant, as if eating the root... More

This is a nice American bistro with an extensive wine and cocktail menu. The vibe is casual, but white table cloths and attention to all the details make this a nice date and special event place. The menu is eclectic: seafood, meat, pasta, salads. Pasta lovers will want to try the Chicken Porcini Penne with sun dried tomatoes and kale.... More
