Pleasant Bistro Dining on Santana Row

this Santana Row restaurant had a pretty good menu selection, with great food and reasonably priced for the portions served. They served mimosa with the brunch, well paired.

this was my 4th visit and I have always made a point of returning for good food atmosphere and service but this time it was disappointing Very quiet but service was poor and it felt like no one was interested. Had to ask for water and bread. Steak knife for my main was delivered halfway through my starter and my... More

Santana Row is known for people watching and good food. So how did this place get here? When I ordered, the waiter said he wasn't sure if they were out of lamb shank, so would I mind picking a second choice. OK, no problem. But I kind of expected him to let me know what he was bringing -- before... More

We used to enjoy going to the Village but recently we were a bit disappointed. I like Eggs Benedict very much but get disappointed when the poached eggs are not consistent. Also, even more than a month after Thanksgiving, the only pancakes available were pumpkin spice, no normal pancakes. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff are friendly but the... More

Just had a by chance walk in dinner at the Village California Bistro for Friday dinner. No reservation but they happily accepted and seated us at a comfortable booth for two, our waiter was exceptionally nice and informative about the food and wine available. My husband had the beet salad, which he loved and the braised short rib while I... More

After our debacle attempting to be seated at the Left Bank, just across the street, we went to a movie and then looked for another place for late (~9:30) dinner. We'd eaten before at the Village, for a Sunday afternoon light meal, and decided to give it a go. I had some very good mixed seasonal plate with some Pita... More

A very American bistro restaurant that changes their menu on a seasonal basis. Their wine selections is out of this world, where they offer flight tastings and highlight various wines throughout the year. They do offer pre-fix menu options that are always a good option. The only thing that I stay away from is the fried calamari, which tends to... More

I have visited here a couple times a year since it opened and it is no longer the same. At our recent visit it took 10 minutes for a server to arrive, another 10 for drinks, and another 15 for food. Then our order arrived incomplete and was bland. Really, This should be your last choice at the Row.

We've eaten at most of the restaurants on Santana Row, but up to now the Village CA Bistro has escaped us, so we thought we'd give it a try. We had a nice outside table, ordered our drinks, and had the "Surf n Turf" appetizer - which was excellent. The three entrees were the "38 North 2 Way Duck", the... More
