Azucar was founded in 2006 and has made it's niche in the culinary industry. The food has always been amazing and on any given night you will find this place bustling with regulars. At the same token like any establishment we had our growing pains. Today, March 25, 2013 we launched our new menu with our new Chef Antonio! He comes with 20 years experience in California, Miami and Las Vegas and he is passionate about his craft. Everything is hand made fresh the same day, even the tortillas! Try our Carne Asada Fries, Ceviche Tostadas, Chili Relleno, Sopes, Tortas, Burritos, Fajitas, Tacos, Enchildas, Prawn Cockatails and more! If you are a return customer, you will taste the difference, if you are new, the food will speak for itself! We hope to see you soon. Bon Apetito!

Good place to salsa dance, wouldn't go for the food

The food is only so-so and I used to love going for their mojitos, but the quality seems to have gone downhill. The last few times I visited, it was really dead. If you like to salsa dance, this is a good place to go. Even if you don't really know how, as a woman there is always a guy... read more

I just went out with my friends last night at downtown San Jose and against my better judgment we decided to go to Azucar for drinks, and what a disaster that was. First of all, they have the audacity to for cover $10.00 to a place that is not bigger than my living room. I must admit that I'm not... More

We chose this place for my wife's birthday for dinner and dancing. At the door they claimed not to have our reservation until i showed them the confirmation email i received. The service was horrible...took an hour to get menu's. Once we did get the food it was not worth the wait - the night was a waste of time... More

I was recently on travel with a co-worker to the San Jose area. We were staying in Sunnyvale and wanted to venture through the horrendous traffic to get to "downtown San Jose" for a nice meal (as opposed to all the strip-mall lunch restaurants surrounding our hotel). The hotel had a brochure of San Jose restaurants, and we found the... More

I would have given 5 points if it only weren't for the terrible service. The waitress seemed to be lost. We got there, she took our drink orders. Didn't bring water or silverware. My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a tamarind mojito. After waiting for some time, she came with the drinks and instead of my mojito she... More

Went with friends for drinks and appetizers. Food was average, but drinks were better. My favorite was the Coconut Mojito. We stayed for dancing, but music was way too LOUD! Overall a nice time, but probably wouldn't return. Too many better choices in Bay Area.

Was there this weekend for party of 25, celebrating my husbands birthday. The food was on time, drinks were kicking and the live music was great! Love our servers, very attentive and friendly, we will definitely be back, thanks Azucar!

Great appetizers and an awesome selection of mojitos w/live music in the background. Entrees are fine, but who has heard of a Latin/Mexican restaurant that doesn't serve a pork dish! Miss my Stratta's; however, like this new place. Will definitely come back for drinks, appetizers, and some salsaing on the very cozy dance floor.

Great atmosphere, live music and good food. Definitely a place to try the mojito's. Not great for conversation as the music is probably a little too loud.
