Great steak...

This is a big busy place, but good. Over the years I find I always end up here for one meal at least when in town and it never disappoints. I have tried a few things on the menu, but to be honest the star of the show has been the steak. Simply prepared and beautifully cooked. Service has... read more

We sometimes go to Grill on the Alley for dinner. The wait staff and the servers are very friendly and kind to us. The wait staff always give us good tables. The room was dimly lit, and the lights on the table were very bright, but that didn't matter that much to me. They serve us bread to eat when... More

Lovely tasty warm bread with 3 options of butter , oil & tomato to start. We both had the scallops as an starter they were delicious & succulent. Next was the steak a filet mignion cooked to perfection & just absolutely delicious. It was to die for. Sides of creamed spinach & mashed potato complimented the steak well. Wine by... More

I took a group of 7 cooks as a training experience to see first hand presentation, service, seasoning, menu development, etc. I even let the Host know what the purpose of our visit was. We were seated in the busiest table in the restaurant and possibly the noisiest.. It took 1 hour for our appetizers to arrive and another 1.5... More

Took six of us for dinner. We did the whole thing up. Cocktails, appetizers, steaks, wine, dessert. Service was fantastic. Food and wine were excellent. Would go again. Most of use had the cowboy ribeye and all of us enjoyed it. Calamari appetizer was huge.

We went here for late night dining and sat on the patio as it was nice out. We enjoyed calamari and a beer. Service was good. It was fun people watching also as it was Wrestlemania Week in San Jose.

My wife and I had season tickets to the opera on our forty-ninth wedding anniversary so we wanted to enjoy a great dinner before the performance. We decided to dine at The Grill On The Alley in San Jose nearby the opera house. When one makes a reservation through open table, one is asked if the meal is for a... More

When traveling to California for business - there is "a lot" of seafood - and - I love seafood. We are working on a project and decided to see what a "steak house" in San Jose, CA would be like compared to Ft Worth, TX, Chicago, etc. The Grill on The Alley in San Jose, CA was just teriffic !... Everything was well done - it was a bit noisy - I wouldn't recommend this for a romantic dinner or date. But, it is convenient to get to. It has outdoor dining area that was packed when we went. I'd go again.
