A quite nice French bistro in a converted house alongside a creek. So yes, there is a quaint creek view. Don't expect a river, it could as easily be storm drain runoff. But nice nonetheless view-wise. Service was excellent, I thought the staff was friendly and attentive. Good wine menu California-wise, not much old world. And the beer selection was... More

Very nice setting. Restaurant had a strange farm odor - not sure why. Food was very good, but prices are quite high, particularly for alcoholic beverages. Grand Marnier souffle is a signature dessert but did not live up to its billing.

After many attempts, it was a real treat to get to La Foret. It's in a lovely rural setting. The staff is courteous and not in any way pretentious. The food is delectable. A word of caution - if you don't like overly sweet desserts, skip the Grand Marnier souffle. The far too sweet sauce spoiled the otherwise pleasant souffle.

I have been coming to this restaurant for years, and I have never ever been disappointed with anything. The food, the service, the ambiance...all excellent! Sometimes I wonder if they hired mind-readers because they always anticipate your every need, even before you ask. Don't leave without ordering the Grand Marnier Souffle.

My wife and I have eaten here many times over the past 15 years. As a matter of fact, we held our wedding reception here 15 years ago. Ever time we have eaten here we have had incredibly delicious food. From Sunday brunch to weekend dinners, the food and service has been exceptional and has never disappointed us. With our... More

I have eaten at La Foret over the years for different occasions (including one "celebratory" dinner with my husband just because the kids were elsewhere :-) and have never, ever been disappointed. The food is always wonderful, service well trained and attentive, and the ambiance lovely. If you like game - this is the place. It's wine selection is expansive... More

You would not expect this out here, but this is a high class restaurant with upclass service. Variety of fish and meat, great selection of wines.

We have eaten at La Foret many many times, it is consistently very, very good. The restaurant in a old home over 100 years, old at the end of the Almaden Valley overlooking a lovely little creek. We enjoy the quail, Kobe, and lamb. Often have the seared sea scallops. And finish with a terrific soufflé which is wonderful! Relaxing,... More

The soufflé is one of the specialities, ask for fresh berries and chocolate as it makes it even much better! I can not recommend this restaurant high enough. It truly is the only... More

I was a little hesitant to try La Foret given the location and the menu seemed a little dated. It is in a rather out of the way place but not too far off the beaten path. I must admit we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. The tasting menu was diverse and portion sizes were large... More
