Great gem near the Convention Center

Great ambiance and food and exceptional service by the waiter, Sean. We've been here several times and love the old-school ambiance and excellent food. But the best is the waiter who goes by Sean, who has to be one of the best waiters we've ever encountered! This restaurant gets very busy right... read more

Great ambiance and food and exceptional service by the waiter, Sean. We've been here several times and love the old-school ambiance and excellent food. But the best is the waiter who goes by Sean, who has to be one of the best waiters we've ever encountered! This restaurant gets very busy right before a show at the nearby theater but... More

Rapunzel and I visited Paolo's on a Saturday night after a matinee at SJ Center for Performing arts which is right next door. 1/2 block walk. Also not, Paolo's is on the ground floor of an office building and can be hard to see from the street. We were greeting cordially at the front door by a gentleman who appeared... More

Very good, white-table cloth experience. The food isn't cutting edge (and some of the menu items are highlighted as from the original menu), but it's very good. The restaurant has a nice wine list and wines by the glass, and for a good Italian meal, it's worth the time and expense. It's located in the back of an office building,... More

Found this restaurant by searching best restaurants near me. Stayed by the airport and this was in the city but only a 5 minute drive. A little hard to find as it is part of a theatre complex. Free underground parking, excellent service and food. Fantastic wine list too. Vongole and Bolognese were fantastic as was the caesar salad and... More

I dined here yesterday with a group of thirteen co-workers. I tried their "Ceppo con agnello e finocchietti in salsa." It was really good. In fact, there were no complaints from anyone in our group. The food was great and the service was attentive (thank you Flower for the entree recomendation!)

I was surprised, delighted and simply pleased by the service and the food we have received during our visit to Paolo's. The Burrata reminded me of my upbringing (in the south of Italy Burrata is well known) and it was one of the best I've ever tasted outside of Italy. The Burrata was exactly how it should be done, stronger... More

The restaurant is in the middle of an office building's courtyard so finding it from the street can be hard. It is worth the search though. My colleague had the Osso Bucco and I had linguine in clam sauce. Prices were quite reasonable given the food quality, restaurant ambience, and service.

First visit and bar tender was gracious and accommodating, explaining the signature drink at every step (we ordered two). Unique flavor and yummy. Pre-show fix prix dinner had good choices and all in our party were happy with their selections. It was as if all the staff was there just to help us, nice! Went back following week and purchased... We had a dinner meeting in a private room that was perfect for our group. I had a wilted spinach salad that should have been called a "mushroom" salad as mushrooms were the predominant feature - okay if you like mushrooms which I do. The duck breast entree was delicious and the bombolino was sooo good. Before dinner we ordered... More

The menu is luscious and the service is spectacular! Great wines and luscious spirits complement your plate in this beautiful space. The tuna carpaccio is to die for, as well as the aroncini, salmon, polenta with asparagus....too many to mention! When you're in San Jose, gift yourself with Paolo's!
