First visit and bar tender was gracious and accommodating, explaining the signature drink at every step (we ordered two). Unique flavor and yummy. Pre-show fix prix dinner had good choices and all in our party were happy with their selections. It was as if all the staff was there just to help us, nice! Went back following week and purchased... We had a dinner meeting in a private room that was perfect for our group. I had a wilted spinach salad that should have been called a "mushroom" salad as mushrooms were the predominant feature - okay if you like mushrooms which I do. The duck breast entree was delicious and the bombolino was sooo good. Before dinner we ordered... More

The menu is luscious and the service is spectacular! Great wines and luscious spirits complement your plate in this beautiful space. The tuna carpaccio is to die for, as well as the aroncini, salmon, polenta with asparagus....too many to mention! When you're in San Jose, gift yourself with Paolo's!

Quiet. Easy to get an Open Table reservation. The pasta bolognese was the most authentic I've had outside of Italy. I will for sure go back.

I chose this restaurant for my company's annual Christmas party. Never having been there before, I was hoping it would be good. It was terrific! Some of our party arrived quite late, and the staff was gracious to hold our table as long as we needed them to, and we stayed in the bar until everyone was there. The food... More

We found Paolo's on Open Table and what a jewel they are! We have been back twice in the last week! The staff is very attentive and not intrusive in the least. Shawn was our server. We went with all his recommendations and what a delight. Each plate that came out was a culinary work of art. The flavors are... More

Dining with a large group can sometimes be difficult but Paolo's handled the evening beautifully. The service was impeccable, the meals were excellent and the wine was perfect. It's a fairly large restaurant but it has the feel of a family environment. The staff seems genuinely pleased to have you share an evening with them. Coming from a cattle ranching... More

This restaurant is located in a building that backs into a beautiful park. I took my team of 12 people there and we were able to order and eat within 90 minutes. The food was very good and the service was great. The location is very private with a nice view of the park. everyone liked it. I will go... More

Once you find Paolo's, tucked away in a huge office complex, you can expect a good but not outstanding Italian meal. The waitstaff bustles about but is overtaxed (although our waitress was competent and friendly, she was frequently hard to find). The location just across a pedestrian bridge is ideal for diners attending a performance at the civic theater; free... More

I appreciate you taking the time to share some information to help others find us. BEWARE! I got some nasty FOOD POISONING from this restaurant. I ordered the Orecchiette with rock shrimp. It completely destroyed my insides. I have never been that sick from eating food. To make a bad situation worse, I called the restaurant to tell them about it and the guy who answered the phone treated me like I was stupid. He... More

I've actually reached out to you on Yelp concerning the same review. Safety, sanitation, and cleanliness are top priorities here at Paolo's. We conducted an investigation, as well as had health inspectors take a look, and were not able to find any evidence of a problem. Because we took the time to conduct a thorough investigation, you did not receive... More
