lively funky place. Ribs, chicken, steaks & more BUT they don't have dessert. Great location if your going to the SAP Convention Ctr. Park your car at the center and walk to dinner. Would go again.

What a great experience. My friend took me to this restaurant while I was visiting and it was really fun. What's unique is the menu is on the wall (limited menu but great choices) and you place your order as soon as your number is called. The waiting area is a bar with seating and benches (padded) along the wall.... More

We stumbled upon this place when we were lost driving through San Jose a few years ago and now it is Definitely the 'hi-lite' of our return visits to CA. The ribs and BBQ sauce are amazing, tender tender meat. The garlic bread and hot tomato sauce is just divine. The whole meal is just fabulous and so worth a... More

I know there are multiple kinds of barbeque and I typically order pulled pork, which is not served here. They now have salmon, so I ordered that. I know, I have no right to complain ordering salmon in a barbeque joint. However, the rest of the team wanted to eat here so I came along. The salmon was a good... More

One of the oldest steak houses in town. The steaks are pretty good and the staff is friendly. When I went there I had to go up to the counter to order but they do have waitresses there as well.

Came here to have a late birthday dinner for my guy with his family. Rumor is this place was in Man vs Food episode. This place was packed as we got there but thank goodness his sister already got us a number while we wait to be seated. You can only order when all the party in your group is... More

Worth the trip if you have time while in San Jose. The food was very good and the staff was super friendly. There was a cadre of regulars at the bar and they clearly enjoyed being there. I could see why, as it was a very comfortable place to visit The atmosphere was a mixture of dive bar, BBQ joint... More

This is a great casual steakhouse and they offer excellent steak at very reasonable price. It is a small place, nothing too fancy, but they definitely serve awesome food. The ribs I had were delicious, one of the best I have ever had. My brother had the porterhouse and the portion was HUGE. Will be back!

College kids have been flocking to the The Hi Life ( Now Henry's World Famous) for over four decades. Once, it was a bargain: steak, a baked potato, side salad and a beer for under $10. For a lot of reasons The Hi Life remains popular - lively bar scene- the bartender, Peachy, is a hoot and efficient. The food... More

Henry's Hi-Life is an old San Jose establishment. Nothing has changed in many decades. The food is good, basic BB--chicken and ribs. The prices are reasonable. It is worth a try and a return every so often.
