Good food.

When they call your number it's still a while before you sit at your table. The bar is great so if there's just 2 of you you might let them know you don't mind sharing a 4 top with 2 others. If you're in the bar by the time you get a table you're friendly with a number of people.... read more

Unique dining experience at Henry's...ancient ramshackle building, often crowded and noisy atmosphere, unconventional ordering and menu...but a serious meat eater's paradise. Come prepared for Flintstone's-like ribs and plate-filling steaks, fresh salads and tasty baked potatoes and a basket full of bread. Staff is friendly and unpretentious. Full bar in front, food in the back. Simple. Satisfying. Henry's Famous Hi-Life is... More

Took my son and his roommate here for dinner. Very crowded due to Maroon 5 concert in area. Unique in that you ordered when you walked in, then we were told it would be 45 minute wait to get the table. So we hung out in the bar, very good atmosphere if a little loud. We were seated in about... More

I hadn't been here in a long time and decided to go with a friend during our lunch hour. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the sauce was perfectly tangy. Lots of variety on the menu, and if it hadn't been lunch time I know we would have like to hang out at the bar for a while. This place... More

After 14 years in San Jose and many trips to one of my fave places, Henry's Hi-Life, I moved back to my roots in Wisconsin. After another 16 years, a west coast family occasion brought me back to downtown San Jose. Remembering Henry's had been in close proximity, my husband and I ventured out to see if it was still... The best bbq spot in town. And this is not negotiable. Also WWE Hall of Famer Ron Simmons was there. Rib eye and full baby back are mandatory. And you will not smell like a roasted pork! Just be patient, at least 45mins for the line. 40 bucks to get stuffed. Great!

After walking out of Original Joe's we headed over to Henry's. What a difference! Even though it was 9:30 they still had Prime Rib and it was great. We were the last table seated for the evening as they close at 9:30. 2 of us had the Prime Rib and you can't go wrong. both of our slabs were cooked... More

Henry's is fantastic, a small hole in the wall with a lot of history. I either get the Ribeye or the Baby Back Ribs, this time I had the Ribeye. You walk into the place and pick up a number from the wall near the door towards the dining area. You figure out what you want and when they call... More

This place is so cool. There is so much history there. You walk into the bar area and you see the doorway headed to the restaurant. At the doorway there is a sign that says stop and take a number. By the way they don't start serving dinner till 5:00 pm. I'm not sure about lunch. OK back to the... More

Last night my girlfriend and I ate there. Except for limited parking, we loved everything! We shared a slab of Baby back ribs. Highly recommend. Very juicy and the sauce they put on the side was as good as the sauce that came on the ribs. She loved the side of mushrooms. Good salads, garlic bread and baked potato.
