Bland Food

I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with garlic bread. The food was very basic and bland. The staff were very pleasant, but I would not pay the money i spent for the quality of food I recieved.

On our final night of a five-day work week, seven of us decided to have dinner at Original Joe’s in San Jose. We were seated at Jay's station. He's one of those waiters any fine-dining restaurant would love to have as a server. He’s friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Between the seven of us, we ordered all kinds of things (including... I was surprised on how busy this place was, don't let the name fool you, service was great, the food was a good as one would expect. I would highly recommend this restaurant for good Italian food. This is a restaurant that requires a reservation. A bit of a walk from our hotel (De Anza) but worth it.

Great place to go, going there for many years. Best steak in town, great drinks and delious dessert. Took my friend from Taiwan to have steak there, my daughter went also because she also love the steak from Original Joe's.

A downtown San Jose institution, Original Joes offers a step up on the casual restaurant dining scene with great steaks, great Italian food, and a great bar all at affordable prices. For "a dinner and a show" be sure to sit at the counter and watch all the action in the open kitchen. I personally like sitting in front of... More

Their steaks are very good, I also order the Half & Half (spaghetti & Ravioli w/meatballs). The bartenders make one of the best Manhattans & Whiskey Sours.

Family style restaurant at it's best! Large portions, modest price, honest food. You won't find a hoity toity tasting menu here. Service is unparalleled, 90 percent of the staff have been there forever and there are numerous repeat diners, you can tell as most of them are known on a first name basis, how good is that? Just like going... More

Wife and I go last night I order full rack of ribs, she takes my side spaghetti marinara. First 1.75 hour wait it's so loud in there I'm getting anxiety waiting. Next my fork has nasty looking good stuff dried on it, that turned my stomach along with the noise level anxiety. I received my plate 9 small ribs, my... More

My experience was thoroughly disappointing. I understand that others have had a great experience and I'm sad because I didn't have that. I went in and asked for takeout, they led me to a place to ask, nobody was there. I saw lots of waiters near the area just hanging out and chatting, didn't seem too concerned with me. Eventually... My son and friend flew into San Jose last night and we got to OJ's at 11:01 pm after a slightly delayed flight. He always wants to go there after his flight because he loves their salami sandwich and fries dipped in meat sauce. We've been going there for 40+ years. At one point, we were such regulars that the... More
