Very busy - my first time at this place. Sat at the bar to wait for our seat - took the bartender 15 minutes to start the drinks because he was busy chatting to a woman who wasn't even ordering. In the meantime other customers got their order from the other bartender. Ordered veal scallopini - very dry. Tough veal.... More

If you love Italian food made the way it is done from the East coast then you will love this place. The waiters are right out of the 1930's and the accents are all Brooklyn. Pasta is made like it came from your mothers kitchen and plentiful.

This is one of those legendary restaurants in San Jose. It is old school Italian food; I love to have their spaghetti and meatballs here. Service is good. Its close to the central hotel area of San Jose Downtown. Good wine list and open late.

We saw this restaurant profiled on the Travel Channel one day and I wrote the name of the restaurant down so we wouldn't forget to try it out the next time we're in San Jose. We both researched their menu on their website and noticed that they are open late at night for dinner. The website lists that they close... More

Never been here before tonight but I was instant old friends when I walked in here. If you, like me , like old style Italian and steak places that haven't changed a bit since the 1960s, this is your kind of place too. It was almost 10:00 at night and the loudspeaker was calling out the names if the next... More

Interesting place. Stopped in after the fireworks downtown for dessert. The places was hoping like made at 11pm. People were ordering prime rib and egg dishes left and right. Could not get a table and so we sat at the counter that is right where the cooking is done. They hide nothing from you. It was great to watch them... More

I arrived late in their work day but not once did I feel that they were rushing me out. The server was polite and a super happy guy. Food was very yummy. Tasted like home cooking...Italian style.

Red leather booths, waiters in Tuxes, very large portions of comfort food... yes, this place is old school.. and loving it. The food is quite tasty, the service is great, and the prices are quite good considering the portion size. Parking sux, as in most of Downtown San Jose, and the line can be a little long, but this place... More

Our family of 6 had a great meal with excellent service from a friendly waiter. Portions were large and the house chanti wine was good. Highly recommend and we will visit again

I went to this place solo and decided to sit in the bar. Service was good and I found the waitress very helpful. The bartenders make a great martini so don't be afraid to ask for your specific preference. I tried the veal with mushrooms and chose the cheese ravioli side. All was very fresh with large portions. My only... More
