Recommend Bruschetta & Risotto

Nice Italian restaurant. I recommend appetizer Bruschetta (I don't know the correct pronunciation) which is marinated tomato on pan and Risotto which includes shrimp and ham. Each item are big enough. Risotto could be shared with two persons.

We searched for a place in San Jose, circled the entire San Pedro Square, and after passing it by the first time, ended up having a great meal on our last night of vacation. I had butternut sqaush ravioli, and my husband had salmon topped with crab. The brown butter sauce was great with my dish, because it was speckled... More

Zagat rated so plates are upwards to $20. I had the seafood pasta & it was delicious! excellent view of the street, outdoor seating if wanted. new owners so everything was being revamped. the service was excellent. the focaccia(bread) was the best reason to eat here! i'd go again for the bread!

My wife and I keep going back because the quality of the food is excelent and we like the atmosphere. I heartlly recommend seeing if you can get a table out front or in the back patio if the weather is warm. When the weather is cold, sitting inside is nice and cozy.

I had dinner and drinks here as part of a large (~25 people) business meeting. The food and service were impeccable. I was not one of the organizers, so I can't speak to cost, but everything was well-planned, they did a good job of getting people herded from the bar area into dinner, and the pace was just about perfect... We really enjoyed a lovely Italian meal at 71 St Peter. They made the best bruchetta I have ever eaten, they brush the toast with pesto, cover that with fresh tomato and shaved parmesan and drizzle reduced balsamic vinegar over the top, YUM! Don't miss it. The pasta was perfect, al dente and flavorful. We have never eaten her before,... More

... I hadn't been here in years so I thought I'd try it again -- unfortunately it's even worse than last time I went -- food was almost inedible -- they really want to do a good job --- a+ for effort, but really D- for execution -- even the way we were met at the door was "off", the... More

Popped into this restaurant with some friends. We were looking for something new and hoped this might be a fun new find. It wasn't. The food was, unfortunately, distinctly sub-par. The menu looked interesting but the execution just wasn't good enough. The lobster bisque was acceptable, but lacked richness. The scallops were delicious. The salads fine but uninspiring. The main... More

I had the pleasure of eating at 71 Saint Peter twice while I was in San Jose. Both times the food and service were excellent. The duck was amazing!

Went downtown on spur of the moment and wandered around before choosing "71" based on its menu and eclectic appearance. We enjoyed the meals and service, being early, we nearly had the outdoor area to ourselves and watched the San Pedro Square evening take shape. Nice Spanish white wine was fairly priced and quite good. The foccacia served as the... More
