Best falafels and great atmosphere

First and foremost - best falafels hands down that I've ever had. When you first take a bite and smell the fresh chickpeas, see the bright green fresh and soft inside and use their white sauce....you'll know why everyone LOVES this place. Aside from the food, the place has been virtually unchanged... read more

Always look forward to stopping in here after a doctor's appointment, As just around the corner. Various falafels - sizes and sauces on the menu. Also always have a 'special' available. A special treat is to get the banana milkshake - unique and delicious. Stop by for something different - but prepared to wait a bit as many people know... More

Falafel drive in appears to be from the 70's Era or at least the neon sign implies as such. We have been eating here for the past 30 years and nothing much has changed except for some improvements in the seating area. The food quality has remained amazingly consistent over the years. It would not be surprising to find yourself... More

The best falafel and gyro place since I moved to the Bay Area late 80's. There is always a long line during lunch time. Every friend I brought here is impressed.

Delicious and worth the long lines. However even better to go. Drive in atmosphere is ok. Kind of crazy at times. We live near by so we get it to take home. Food is super good but beware no matter what you get it will spike your blood sugar. Even just a gyro sent my diabetes blood sugar through the... More

You know you are close when you smell the aroma in the air. I've been going to the Falafel Drive-In for years (30). Prices are reasonable, they are pretty quick and certainly tasty! Don't go for the ambience-most of the seating area is outside, so eat there, or take it to go. This place is always busy, which is a... More

I learned about this type of food by chatting up the staff and trying the recommendations. Huge lines at lunch and dinner time. Prepare accordingly.

This place is an institution, run by a family, Great service, fun food. And some fun art on the walls of San Jose historic places. These guy were even featured on Food Network Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. Good place to stop on the way to SAP Center events too.

I love the falafel here! The mixture is moist and flavorful, and is delicious in both the pita and the salad. The banana shakes here are terrific, too! There is always a line, no matter what time you go, but it is worth the wait. It is on a busy street in a bit of a rundown area, but I... More
