Personally hand crafted and made from unique spices and sauces with the freshest grades of sustainable fish or shellfish and served over, around or in freshly made rice. Most of our fish is served raw to preserve the true flavors while others are cooked to add variety, texture, and different flavors to the sushi. In today's world wide market place where fish can be served fresh daily - even after being caught several thousands of miles away - Bluefin's long history and relationships allow the chefs to select only the highest grades of fish available at that time. This is our true differentiation in San Jose, similar to the premium steak houses where beef is graded into 11 categories from Prime+ to Standard-. Though farm raised fish have become commonplace in our diets today, we avoid farm raised fish - which have come to be known to contain antibiotics or hormones - and in addition, specifically strive to select the best quality, locally sourced fish. For those true connoisseurs of sushi, Bluefin regularly imports unique fish from Japan selected at their peak of taste and flavor based on the season and micro-climate of the area. Enjoy and taste the difference true quality can bring to sushi.

Close to the Shark Tank, across from Whole Foods, Bluefin offers higher end selections. Was there with 3 others, we shared some dishes, all well prepared. Not all food came at the same time, but I would return.

Was taken to BlueFin by friends when I visited San Jose. Food was incredible - the salmon sashimi blew my mind. I wish I lived closer, but I'm sure I would spend waaay too much money at this restaurant if I did. The atmosphere is slick, and it looks like a good place to bring people or meet people, especially... More

In San Jose for Queen concert, I found the Bluefin Restaurant as a "close to SAP Center restaurant" and were we happy! Parked in the neighborhood, had dinner then walked to the Queen concert. We were 40 somethings and 60 somethings who were really happy with this choice of restaurant. A nice sake, wine and cocktails menu - ordered from... More

Great place to take a date or for business dinner. Not a great idea to take a large crowd if you are paying the bill.

A work colleague and mine went to this restaurant for lunch. We each ordered a sushi platter and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The next time I am in San Jose, I will go back to BlueFin.

There is a very wide range of Sushi here in various dishes. I started with an oyster shooter - which was good. I can recommend the take chance roll and the spicy tuna roll,

The sushi at the Blue Fin was very good! The ambiance is very chic and cool and the service was great! I sat at the sushi bar and both the sushi chefs and the wait staff were attentive and professional. I really enjoyed that fact that they offered sampler plates and sake sampler. I was totally impressed by the fact... More

This place is very expensive, and some of the most bland Japanese food I have ever eaten. I guess it's a place to get Japanese food for people who don't actually like Japanese food. Oh and over priced, $14 for two quarter sized pieces of ankimono (monkfish pate), with an eyedropper full of ponzu. ANd the rice, gloppy truly awful,... More

I have eaten here several times and enjoyed the food, presentation and service each time. The restaurant is also family-friendly. Parking can sometimes be difficult but they have a small lot behind the restaurant.

Enjoyed lunch (basic tuna sushi, California roll, and a local specialty roll). Prompt and professional service. Good non-fish options for the Texan with me.
