Firehouse No. 1 Bar & Grill is a outstanding San Jose destination when you're looking for great food, delicious drinks, and friendly people. Gastro pub quality fare made from scratch in addition to impressive daily specials. A vast and well stocked bar that includes hand crafted cocktails in addition to draft and bottle beers, and select wines. Be sure to participate in the occasional whole bar sing-alongs, or cheer the bartenders on as they prepare exotic flaming drinks and smash bottles behind the bar. Lots of LCD screens when there is a sporting event or Sharks game - or just digital flames all around late at night. Open from 11AM until 2AM weekdays with happy hour from 3pm to 7pm. On weekends, open from 4PM until 2AM. We have full table service both inside and on the patio. Patio heaters when its cold.

What a great find!

We stopped at the Firehouse after reading the reviews, and were not disappointed! There are a fair amount of beers on the menu and on tap, including a fabulous berry cider! The food was all great, with a huge focus on the warm spinach salad with porcini mushrooms and blue cheese, loved it... read more

Having moved here recently, we're still checking out the many restaurants in San Jose, looking for a new favorite place. Depending on the neighborhood, there are usually some excellent choices, especially downtown San Jose and near San Pedro Square. We've visited Firehouse No. 1 Gastropub several times and it's quickly becoming a preferred pick. Each time we've visited the Firehouse,... More

Business dinner for 2 had apps of pork belly lettuce wraps and wings, both were great! We had the pork chops and steak dinners, again stellar! By the way great beers and Kraft gin and tonic were on point! Dessert was some ginger cookie with marshmallows, chocolate and bourbon, absolutely fantastic.

A great little bar with a good selection of craft beer and wine, but come for the food! They have a cowboy bone-in ribeye that is huge and amazing. Brussel sprouts when they are in season are great too. They have a nice outdoor seating area on San Pedro that I would recommend, the bar itself has an irish-pub sort... More

The service was slow and the drinks took 15 minutes to reach our table, so that was certainly a bad start. But everything else after the slow service makes Firehouse No. 1 a spot well worth visiting. The macaroni and cheese was to die for and the main courses (particularly the steak) were cooked well and full of flavor. It's... More

I'm from Singapore and in the area for work. Was really looking forward the famous pork belly sliders. Unfortunately, jerk of a bartender refuses to accept my Singapore driver's licence AND national ID! Tried to explain to him but he kept saying Cali laws only allow US and foreign passports. Said they only card folks who look below 30, but... More

Firehouse No 1 was the first place my partner and I headed to after landing in San Jose for a week long holiday in March 2015. We did a little pre-planning and picked this place based on Trip Advisor reviews and their website. It was a beautiful day outside, so enjoyed lunch on their outdoor patio. It was our first... More

Ive been on a quest to find the perfect burger in downtown San Jose. Firehouse 1 under delivered. The service was poor (seemed over staffed and under serviced). Also the burger took a very long time even though I was the only patron at lunch. When it came out the bun was drippings soggy (which meant it had been sitting).... More

The atmosphere at this restaurant was great. The food was okay, and same with the drinks. The waiter was hilarious and made the whole experience. I went with a large group, and it was hard for them to accommodate us with order accuracy.
