The snow capped cabin is just the beginning of a cozy dining ambiance of taverns of old. I have eaten in the bar area and restaurant and the food is always worth the $. If you are dining in the the restaurant the average meal is $20 but you have enough food for at least another meal. My favorite place... More

Three adults for dinner on a Saturday night, no reservations needed only for 10 or more in your party. We were seated only after about 10 minutes or so. If you've never been, go ahead and sit in the bar area, enjoy the live entertainment, have a drink and enjoy eating and throwing the peanut shells on the floor. That's... More

Food is good - never been disappointed. Usually only purchase lunch portions since their dinner portions are way too big for me to eat. Their green salad & red cabbage salads are great - usually mix them together & eat with their cheese bread. Steaks are good, but my fav is Halibut. Love the stained glass windows & Tiffany hanging... I love the feel of a cozy cabin. The ambiance is great and the hamburgers are on of the best in La county!

Great food. Watch out for the salads and bread though because they are so good you can easily fill up on them and ruin your dinner. And the dinners are BIG.

Along with The Derby in Arcadia, this is truly another of Southern California's great restaurants. Excellent food and service with generous portions. The cheesebread is a Clearman's tradition.

This is a quirky place ... perennially snow-laden cabin outside and tiffany-lamped, big-tabled rooms inside. The art is highly-eclectic, including some vintage risque paintings. Menus are heavy boards shaped (and weighing) like kettles that you lay flat on the table to indicate readiness to order. There are several oddities, too, like entrees inc. two salads with no indication of what... More

While in SoCal in July, 2013, my husband and I decided to have lunch at Clearman's Northwoods Inn. I grew up in the area many years ago and my family would eat there every once in awhile for special occasions. It was a magical experience for a kid who, as my mother likes to tell, "could knock out the largest... More

Overall, a good experience. Old fashioned steakhouse where you can throw your peanut shells on the floor. It's a dimly lit with interesting decor. Service was attentive for lunchtime. Place was not too loud either so good for business meetings.

This charming replica was originally opened in nearby Monrovia and proved so popular that when I-210 was built through that property Clearman physically moved the entire restaurant across town to it's current location. Not only has it's food formula and quality stood the test of time but it's served as the forerunner to other wonderful Northwoods Inn locations. The garlic... More
