I'm very sad to see how The Boat has gone downhill!! The burger was dry and tasteless, other items were equally bad including the turkey wrap which was made with cheap lunch meat turkey, French dip with 1 slice of beef. Not even the multiple tv screens will bring us back and we have been eating here for over 20... More

A long time favorite, I love the salads and cheese bread. The two salads blend together so well! This is a casual and noisy restaurant, more of a fast food scene than a quite restful dining experience. But the food is great. A bit pricy.

I have been coming here for many years, and yes it was better when it was The Boat. Meaning the food. The seating space is much larger and the televisions have improved, but the food has not kept up with the rest of it. Still, the only I reason to go here is the red cabbage salad, and it has... More

The galley has been a favorite of our families for years. Food is always terrific and of course their world famous cheese bread and red cabbage salad are my favorites. Hamburgers with chili-super & their blue cheese salad-always a family staple. Since their renovation it is quite large inside, lots of TV's with sports & an excellent bar area with... More

It was touch and go for a minute or two when we couldn't find The Boat ... he remembered it from growing up in the area and wanted to visit it again. When we found it, it was like finally seeing an old friend after so many years being apart. What a great place. From the super tall ceilings with... More

I love everything about Clearmans Galley (The Boat), but my absolute favorite is the red cabbage salad. My wife and I have been going to Clearmans for almost 30 years, usually after a day at Santa Anita race track. They make hamburgers to order, right in front of you, as well as chicken, sausages and all other sorts of great... More

For those outraged foodies giving this place one star and sharing outraged narratives, get a life! Its called the Boat, not Ruth Chris or Green Street. You want gourmet, keep going. The burgers are great, the fish and chips are great, and my favorite, the chili in a sourdough bowl is always delicious. Oh yeah, the salad is on many... More

I ate at "Clearman's Galley" today (6/24/2012). It's called "The Boat" by all the locals (and there is a real boat but there is no water to be seen). I've eaten there many times before. I had their signature 1/3 lb. Cheeseburger for $7.95 (all bugers are prepared with lettuce, tomato, thousand Island and their special chili sauce) - it's... More

Normally the food is always very good but this trip it was horrible. We went on Memorial Day evening shortly after 8 pm. Since they close at 9 pm, we asked if we still had time to eat dinner. The cashier said it was no problem. We ordered the three piece fish with fries, a sourdough bread bowl with chowder... More

Our group of fifty was the first to arrive after a weekend up in the mountains. They were a little late opening up so everyone was anxious and getting hungrier by the minute. Once inside, we patiently waited in the queue. Everything made to order cafeteria style and with a number of combinations, it took time. Portions are large and... More
