After my fourth visit over a period of years, I continue to think this is the best Mexican cuisine outside of Mexico (and possibly IN Mexico). Chef Roberto produces inventive, delicious delicacies to delight diners at this small, unpretentious place in an unlikely locale. He proudly uses the best ingredients; he will describe them to you (how often do you... More

The only restaurant that compares is Casa Oaxaca....in Oaxaca Mexico; so if you can't make the trip....head down to San Gabriel (of all places). Chef Roberto only uses the very best ingredients in whatever dishes he prepares, the finest sea foods and meats...his soups are beyond compare. He will come out of the kitchen to explain what is on the... More

Fine food, tasty surprising combinations, beautiful presentation in a very small family-run restaurant in an offbeat location. Mexican food does not get better—anywhere (I live in New Mexico and travel to Mexico). Not cheap, but a fair price for the quality. Wine and beer only.

Authentic, delicious, sophisticated Mexican food prepared with complete attention—the chef is a master and artist. Little touches add to the presentation. Chiles en nogada, best I've ever had. Lovely, cheerful family atmosphere. Not cheap, but more than fair. As close to perfect as one can get. Delightful.

This small, comfortable resturant in a somewhat out-of-the-way location is a wonderful treat. The food is not your traditional tacos/enchaladas/tostadas but an authentic list of Mexican dishes, many from the Mexico City area. The sauces are different and interesting. The specials reflect regional or seasonal specialties. The service is well paced and friendly. You can almost always anticipate a visit... More

This is an unassuming place on the corner. It has about 8 or 10 tables and is family run. The service is pleasant and forward with direct answers on what is recommended. The waitress must have trained in Paris, she is so blunt: (in accented English) "The giant scallops are not at their best". "Sauteed schnapper and relleno are the... More

Don't let this restaurant's unassuming location or modest decor fool you: if you like Mexican food that is sophisticated and full of flavor, you're in for a treat. I had the mushroom sauteed in a mole sauce and ended up scraping every bit of the sauce from the plate. My steak and shrimp in a cilantro sauce was superb. Even... More

Don't let the exterior deter you. Once inside, the linen-covered tables and small room seem to invite an extraordinary dining experience. The prices match the quality of the food.Forget the typical taco-enchilada combination plate. These creative dishes delight the palate.

A wide-variety of Mexican dishes from all over that beautiful country. Salsa is excellent as well as the corn tortillas. I ordered halibut with scallop on top. Very delicious and there was a mole sauce. All the details are paid attention to. The chef/owner comes by and discusses the food with each client. A little on the pricey side, but... More

Worst service ever! The old waitress barely speaks English and the other one is awfully rude. It took almost two hours to get our very average food. The decor consists of empty liquor bottles lining the room. Secluded, dark, off the main drag location.
