Have been to both, but actually I'm writing about South of Nick's which was not on your list. We have come to adopt South of Nick's as our absolute favorite. The sea bass tastes like a succulent lobster tail. I have had it several times and it is consistently the best. This is high style Mexican done with much attention... More

Sat us at a table that had not been properly cleaned. Server forgot to bring our wine, served my 16 month grandson cold, under cooked fish, took my daughter's cioppino away without asking and she wasn't finished eating. Friend at our table did like the meatloaf and the asparagus fries were decent. Don't waste your money on the deviled eggs.

Luckily, I had made a reservation for our dinner at this popular restaurant, as it was packed and people kept coming hoping to get in. On our walk to the restaurant on a Thursday night, we noticed most places had just a few people in them, but Nick's was overflowing. Our reservation was honored right on time, and we sat... More

Came with some friends for a late dinner. I had a negative experience at their Mexican restaurant so I wanted to write about my great experience here. The service, food, and atmosphere were great. I really enjoyed my sandwich. I have nothing negative to say. I look forward to returning and trying something else.

Sunday dinner for four of us, and by 6 pm the restaurant was packed and abuzz. We started out with an appetizer (asparagus fries) at the bar while waiting for our friends. Large spears of asparagus lightly breaded and fried. Very good. Drinks were excellent, as well. We split the baby back ribs and had more than enough to eat.... More

Lunch time, great service, good food, nothing really out of the ordinary. Very clean. Predictable menu/service and atmosphere.

We live close to the San Clemente area and frequent this beach community to eat quiet often. Sunday was our first time to Nick's at this location. The menu offers decent variety. My husband ordered the chicken tortilla soup which was really good. He also ordered the prime rib sandwich, and wanted medium. I ordered the Halibut sandwich. His prime... More

Great menu, great prices. Great drinks and atmosphere. Call ahead to get reservations as there is always a wait. We love the asparagus fries, deep fried deviled eggs and the rib eye melt is incredible. Everything on the menu is great!

Went on whim for a late lunch based on recommendation. We tried the asparagus fries and kids loved it, even if they did not eat asparagus whenever I served it, The Blackened Halibut sandwich was very good, just a little hard to take bites off because of the many layers. Wife enjoyed her fish and chips as well, since the... More

Ordered the "Salty Pear" drink with St Germain elderflower liquor... Yum! And the pork rib dinner... fall off the bone superb! Austin, our waiter, was terrific. Fudge sundae for dessert, shared, topped the festivities!
