The Village Mediterranean food is wonderful and authentic. It is a very small restaurant with great service. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

The place was empty when we approached which made us nervous. We checked out the menu and it seemed awesome, so we entered anyways and I am so glad we did! Apparently it was quiet because there was a game on, so we had the place to ourselves. Our waiter appeared to also be a chef and he had great... More

I had been wanting to go here. I used to go when it was a little breakfast place and loved it then. The food was good, but we had to sit outside, because it was so stifling hot inside, I don't know how anyone could sit there and enjoy their food. Strangely, too, you have to walk through the kitchen... More

As a famly of 5 on vacation, we decided to try The Village, based on other restaurant reviews. We are very familiar with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food. We ordered the mezze with the grilled falafel and it was tasty. I had a halibut dish served with a mashed potatoes that were right out of the ice cream scooper. There... More

We have been coming to San Clemente for 11 years and finally stopped in here. This place is over 15 years old and is fantastic. In a town that is beginning to explode with new restaurants, this small location is a must add to the agenda. With seating for only about 30 it is intimate, yet right in the center... More

There are so many options in Ornage County where the food is good and the atmosphere is great. The village has decent food but you sit on top of the other guests and you in and out in less than an hour and drop a lot of money. I do not mind the money but there are so many other... More

My wife and I have been coming here for years. We love the place especially after the recent remake inside. The menu is full of interesting food - curry's and game. what's disappointing is we have watched the menu slowly change and get smaller. Example - the Wild Boar ravioli - a few years ago this came with 4 ravioli,... More

On the main drag, but nearly hidden, VMR is worth seeking out. Unlike it's ho-hum Italian restaurant neighbor, VMR offers exotic meats and preparations that are both adventurous and satisfying. I considered having the leg of elk, but chose a lamb steak from the specials menu at the server's recommendation. It was beautifully presented, tender and perfectly cooked, with a... More

The food at the Village Mediterranean is exceptional, atmosphere delightful and the staff are brilliant. The food quality and preparation is way beyond any available in the area. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy an evening of culinary delight.

Decided to try something different while visithing San Clemente so we went to the VMR on the main drag on Del Mar Avenue in downtown. It was not crowded on a Sunday evening. Nice decor with photo prints reminiscent of Italy. A few tables outside & no more than 10 tables inside, We started with the lentil soup & boar... More
