Went to San Clemente to visit family after Thanksgiving and had to go to Hapa J's after hearing so many good things. I found out that on Taco Tuesday's THIS is the PLACE to be!!! We had a stellar server, Devin, who got us drinks (recommended a tasty cucumber&strawberry martini that was better than my sis' margarita;) Then came a... More

I went for a work function so it may be a bad representation of the actual menu but I wasn't very impressed. The food was sub-par and wasn't very hot. The service was decent though.

We've lived in the area for 7+ years, and began frequenting Hapa's around 4 years ago. If you're looking for a great local favorite with cold beer, awesome food and friendly staff this is the place. We love for the poke, ahi or tako. The rest of the menu is outstanding as well. If you're looking to feed a bunch... More

We do love Hapa J's. The only reason I am giving it a 4 is that it is loud and sometimes very very crowded, esp in the summer. Recommendations: Shoyu Chicken Bowl, Teri Beef Bowl, Spicy Ahi Poke Bowl. For a big group, one order of nachos with pulled pork weighs about 5 pounds, and is the bomb! Taco Tuesday... More

These folks offer many good Hawaii express recipes. I have never had a bad dish here. Great folks, good attitudes and value (though not cheap). Many locals but out of town guests must try.

I love this place, a little loud, but the food and staff are awesome. If your feeling a little Spam Musabi, Hawaiian style pork, or just want to tilt back a Primo, this is the place. Never had a bad meal or bad service here.

This is a must visit when visiting San Clemente. Great crew working there, ice cold beer, great cocktails and some of the tastiest snack food around.. Ahi and Octopus Poke are incredible, their take on chicken wings are awesome... and the pulled pork nachos and ManFries are da' bomb!! Trust me, this is all you need.. The platter of ManFries... fresh, delicious delicate ahi, presented with creamy spicy sauce, perfect seaweed salad and delicious brown rice. Go at Happy Hour and add a Primo draft pint for $3. Nice, relaxed, bungalow-style restaurant with lots of windows. Recommend!

You gotta have a Kimo's Hawaiin beer at Hapa J's. It is ice cold, and goes great with all the food they serve. A great place for locals. The tourists stay away as its not right downtown.

My family loves this place. You get plenty of food for your money. Nachos with kailua pork will feed you for a week; Korean shirt ribs are great; have a Mai tai (or two) they are very enjoyable.loud enough to bring your toddlers.
