Really liked the place and food. Was on 101 and selected this placed based on reviews. Nothing fancy or upscale, but really happy
My family and I have eaten at Kabul for about twenty years. When my children return to the Bay Area, Kabul in San Carlos, is their first choice for dinner. Aushak has been the choice, often we get an extra to-go for the next day. Bashir, the owner, and his staff are friendly and courteous. Food is delicious. Afghan spices... More
Lunch or dinner, Kabul Afghan Cuisine has excellent food and service. Over the years I've tried various choices from their menu and have found all to be well-prepared, well-seasoned, and well-served. Whether just the two of us, or a group of 8-10, the service is very efficient. We love the place--hidden as it is in a strip mall at the... More
White tablecloths, low lighting and great prices for really tasty cuisine. I love the Mantoo and my husband loves the beef something. My son loves the lamb with eggplant stew. The best is the eggplant appetizer, unreal. My younger son hates eggplant but he fights for this. I love that you can go out and get a great meal without... More
Kabul has an interesting location in a strip mall but don't let that fool you. This is a fabulous place and would definitely recommend. The bread and kabobs are excellent!
Still a great place for authentic Afghanistan food. We enjoyed the lamb kabobs and the vegetable plate which consisted of some wonderful pumpkin, eggplant, and cauliflower dishes. Service was excellent and the price for 2 was quite reasonable
Six of us had dinner here last week- one vegan, 2 vegetarians, & 3 meat eaters. We all loved it, and 4 of us eat their often. Each entree was accompanied by a fresh green salad and most came with a large dish of white rice. I ordered lamb with spinach -- big chunks of not over cooked, tender lamb,... More
Was near my hotel so I walked there. It is part of a strip mall. Very nicely decorated with presumed native items. Service was friendly and warm. Portions were good sized. I had the Sabosas with lamb and chicken kabobs ( I don't know much about Afghan food, so I wasn't particularly adventurous in my first try). Relatively varied menu... More
What did I like?? Everything - the food, the service, the price, the portions, the atmosphere What did I not like?? Not knowing it was there until my last night.
Nice service and warm environment. The food was very taste and not expansive. The lamb was perfect, but I also recommend to get combinations. You will have a choice of 2. I did combinations with Lamb, Beef and Chicken. They also have Salmon and Shrimps. The yogurt is delicious.
