The location is nothing much. In fact, you have to be sharp eyed to spot it, but the ribs make up for it. Cooked over a wood fired pit, they come in different types, sizes and modes, but they're all finger-lickin' good.

The day had been marginal. Flight to SFO delayed almost 3 hrs from Boston. The GF and I both in pretty bad moods. We were staying just down the street at Ritz, waiting for an early morning rental car to drive north. The manager suggested Rib Shack. We walked there and brought the food back to our room, stopping at... More

I stopped by here on a lark and got the chicken and pork rib combo. The chicken was good but the pork ribs were excellent. Best I've ever had. I was disappointed they were out of beef ribs (my favorite) and the sides I wanted - corn on the cob and the tomato/cucumber salad. I got the potato salad and... More

This was the place to go for baby-back ribs. It's appears to have changed owners, and the taste and quality of the food has changed too. Unfortunately not for the best. The two times I was there the ribs were dry and like shoe soles. I'm now looking for a good rib place...hard to find these days!

We tried the Rib Shack while staying at a nearby hotel. The pulled pork sandwiches were delicious and the sides were great. We had collard greens, chili beans, corn on the cob, fries, fruit salad, coleslaw, etc. All were very good and at reasonable prices. It is always a risk to try a new place in an unknown location, but... More

So far, some of the best BBQ I've had on the peninsula. Try the T-Rex if you ever get a chance and like beef ribs. I have yet to try ANYTHING bad here! Nothing but good experiences with service and the food. Get the Backyard BBQ deal which is $50, but worth if if you split it with 3 people!... More

There are only a few rib places in the penninsula and rib shack was are best choice. Nothing fancy, no reservations needed and the variety of sauces was great.

We had a Groupon for the rib shack so we decided to give it a try. We purchased the sampler and found the meal to be awful. I've had better BBQ style pork ribs at Costco! The pork and beef ribs were tender, but not smoky as expected with BBQ. The chicken was so dry we couldn't even eat it... More
