Filipino Food

This is a hole in the wall along San Mateo Ave. in downtown San Bruno. The place is relatively small (Max. 65). The wait can be long when it's busy other than that service is fast and friendly. Food is piping hot and they always have a complimentary soup. Food is cooked to perfection and... read more

Our friend from Miami visited my husband and then we went to San Francisco to visit a common friend. He brought us to this restaurant in San Bruno called Kuya's Asian Cuisine. The food were great and delicious.

This is the place if you want fast efficient service. Food was very tasty and rates very reasonable. Halo halo was the best. Will definitely come back if I am in the area again. Highly recommended.

It was our first time to eat at this restaurant ..just entering the place something smells aweful already..then the server is not as accommodating and not smiling OMG...she shouldn't be working in a place where she has to deal with people anyway since we are all hungry we opted to stay. Food took long to be served the halo halo... More

I love this place. Been here a couple of times and I could honestly say that I was not disappointed at all. It's clean, homey, has great food, & most of all the people (staff and owner) have great customer service skills. It has the best Ube Halaya. I highly recommend this restaurant for people out there who like authentic... More

My favorite is Kuya's kare kare. Not too many places make it as good. Service is good and parking at the back is convenient. I just wish they add more healthy stuff.

Mention Pilipino food and the first restaurant that comes to mind is Kuya's of San Bruno. My family's pass time is eating out at different restaurants. Being a Filipino, my family and I, without fail, would try different Pilipino restaurants. We tried even those that offer "Fusion" type of Pilipino Food which I find too pricey. Fusion food is ok... When you are married to a Filipino you come to love many things about their culture...the food being one of those things. So when I travel to San Francisco I always make it a point to head to the South San Francisco area due to the large number of Filipino restaurants, shops and warm, kind people. The hotel I was... We've been coming here since last year with friends and family. It is a smaller restaurant and can be crowed. However, once you're seated, you will be attended to right away. The food is excellent and I would recommend trying the "hoy gising" (pork and stringbeans) as well as their pork sisig.
