Pleasant ambience in the "Fireplace Room," attentive service, and good pasta. However, premium pricing is the consequence of little competition, and a nearby well-to-do AG community. The lowest price for a glass of wine is $8. Plain spaghetti marinara (no meat) is $14. Decent overall value though since the pasta entree comes with tasty bread & a quality salad. The... More

I have to agree with the other reviewers. It's just an average restaurant. But the service was great from the hostess to the bus boys. Not really happy with our waiter, Nolan. We never got a refill on drinks ! We sat in the to-go area for 45 minutes because we didn't know the restaurant part opened at 4 o'clock.... More

I was in Salinas on business and had dinner here. i expected more of a 'mom & pop' Italian restaurant and I was very surprised. The menu was much more varied, the evening specials were outstanding, and the wine list is deep with Italian wines fairly priced. Great job by the wait staff, and Gina (Gino's daughter and current owner)... More

My girlfriend and I went here for lunch, at her suggestion, and to my surprise, I found it to be absolutely WONDERFUL. We both had the pesto bruchetta, and ceasar salad. Our waiter got " confused " a couple of times regarding who got what, but that certainly didn't take away from my experience. For those that wish, there is... More

I made the sad assumption the yummy Italian restarant, Gino's, would have lasagne...Silly me! The pasta was full of tomatoes and low on flavor. The ambiance was low on light and full of people. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Sorry, the people were very nice, but the food was less than adequate.

It was ok.... not fabulous...not bad... just ok... after all I heard, maybe I had anticipated too much and had unrealistic hopes..... the staff was great and friendly... the food was fine... just not earth shattering hold on to your seats fabulous... making me want to travel... I LOVE this restaurant. I have eaten here many times and it is consistantly wonderful with 5 star service. The Manager, Gina, is super. We had my mother's 81st birthday party here and it was perfect.

We went with what some locals (and the waitress) recommended - My wife had the beet salad (she was somewhat disappointed since she wanted more a salad and got basically just beets and some goat cheese - it tasted fine but not great). I had the blackened chicken fettucini. It was quite good and a large portion (enough for two... More

Gino's has a big following and their above average, but I have memories of the dad when they their little restaurant in Alisal. That fettuccini alfredo was amazing.

The blackened chicken fettucini and the shrimp fettucini were too salty, and the noodles were soft. The sheet of specials and the wines paired with them had no prices listed. No separate wine list was given, so we went with the waiter's first suggestion of a bottle of chianti, figuring it was probably a house wine, since he mentioned it... More
