Back in the early 1980's I was stationed in Monterey with the U.S. Navy. I lived in Carmel & drove to Rosita's all the time to eat!! I loved their food, it was my all time favorite restaurant in CA....I was discharched in 1982 & moved back to Minnesota & I now live in Texas. I have not been back... More

I have eaten here before; but I would walk by it daily since I was craving another dish. Today I was craving Mexican Cuisine and went in. Great food, low prices, Had the lunch special, added a second taco on the side. There are not to many Mexican places, in town, where you can enjoy lunch with a Corona. My... More

My wife and I dated at Rosita's back in the 70's. It might be we were caught up with each other and, due to moving out of State, have not been back since 1976 but the food seemed a lot better back then. Yesterday, we found the food very average and lacking flavor. The chips were over cooked. The service... More

I was in high school in 1970 and Salinas was the land of rival high school sportsmen. I may have sat in this same booth during one of my many carefree jaunts at that time. But I know upon entering, the feeling of a cultural family kitchen; the spotlessly scrubbed counters tables and floors; and the memories drawing the eye... More

I very rarely give anything less than 3 or 4, but this just not good. We stayed over in Salinas after a day of hiking in Big Sur and another day of hiking in the Pinnacles National Park. We had high hopes of visiting the Monterey Brewing Company, but it, and what seemed like the rest of old town Salinas,... More

I am new to Salinas and my daughter and her family were visiting me. So I thought we would try this place out since it is touted to be the best. What a waste of too much money. Tasteless, with items floating in sauce, fake guacamole. Rice-a roni really? I am from So Cali and I guess this place might... More

On vacation we were advised by the nice front desk girl at our hotel that this was her favorite place because everything is homemade. We gave it a try and my husband now wants to go back again before we head back to New Hampshire. Not a fancy place but yes it was very good and the service so friendly!

Wonderful dinner and great service. I had the chicken mole and it was absolutely amazing. My whole group was very pleased with their meals. Very clean and nice decorations. Worth a trip out to Salinas for this fantastic restaurant!

After visiting the Steinbeck Center I strolled to the postoffice and saw this little fine restaurant. I love these original diners in US. Not many of them left now when everybody seems to prefer the 'Yellow Gull' type of restaurants. Got a good cup of coffee and the story of the amadillos. Will go there next time I come to... More
