This was a nice big restaurant. It was well laid out, had plenty of seats and fast, friendly service. I liked the "healthy options". And the fruit bowl was nice and fresh. I had a mushroom omelet with wheat muffin.

We go to both first awakenings Monterey and salinas and always had a good breakfast, we tried many of dishes and liked them all. Our grand kids love the pancakes.

Food is always spot on!! When able to go out for breakfast this is always my families top choice. Good service and delicious meals with nice hot coffee is always the best way to start your day!

We try to eat at First Awakening about once a month as our family treat. We have had our Mothers Day there for about 3 years. They can handle a group of 10 as walk ins everyone always happy to see you and the food is awesome. Probably too much food but you can handle it. Enjoy

We came for a big family (9 of us) breakfast and tried several of their "signature" dishes. All were excellent, fresh and served hot. Some of the combinations / skillets were things you might think of in a creative moment - and made very well. There were also little extras - the Mickey Mouse pancakes for the kids and abundant... I live in Salinas and this is always my first choice of places to go for breakfast. Everything I have ever had there has been delicious, but I especially like the blueberry pancakes (I usually order 2 and still can't finish them they're so big) and the fruit crepes (with yogurt in them). The service is always excellent, very attentive.... More

We stopped here for lunch (there is plenty of free parking in Salinas). Yummy food, nicely plated, with somewhat slow service for early afternoon (after 1 pm). Upscale interior. Their xxx.net webpage doesn't seem to work. (Kitty corner from great second-hand resale shop.)

We had breakfast here and it was good. Extremely large portions (but that's the difference between Europe and the USA in general), but very good food. Lovely staff who checked on us regularly. Would definitely go back.

My husband and I went here after an awful night at a close hotel, and it ALMOST made the night worth it. The breakfast was big and very good. I had the special egg-crepe combo with avocado and cheese, and it was very tasty. My husband had the award-winning eggs benedict, and said it was among the best he had... More

We were vacationing in the area and came in one morning for breakfast instead of eating at our hotel. Food was fresh and service was good. Very good cup of coffee and they leave a thermal decanter at the table.
