Yum, and huge proportions! Plenty to share if you have a light appetite. No problem with seating this rime but can see how it would be packed quickly.

This restaurant is a charming look into the past, with warm interior enhanced by friendly staff. We were amazed at the variety of original items on the menu. As my husband commented to a couple checking out the menu outside the door, "The menu has many great things to choose from, and it's not expensive."

An often crowded meeting spot, this place has a delicious Fruity chicken salad, good sandwiches, and really bad crepes...they fall apart and get very soggy with too many fillings. Ambiance is good but a bit loud, service good, but a bit rushed. If you come on weekends, be prepared for a wait of 20 to 30 minutes. It is only... More

We have frequented First Awakenings for many years. The food, service and price are the best. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting.

I am a Salinas H.S. Class of '64 and this was my first visit back since our 25th H.S. Reunion. Downtown has changed dramatically (for the MUCH BETTER) and this jewel of a restaurant is in a terrific location. One block south of Steinbeck Museum on Main Street. Food portions were 'stuffingly good'...service was very amiable and our staff looked... More

I love this place. I live in salinas and first awakenings is the only place I go for breakfast. Every item is great, fresh and creative. I especially enjoy the pancakes. Every day there are specials and I find it hard to choose.

The restaurant sits in an 1890's block close to the National Steinbeck Centre and proved to be a great find for lunch. $10-99 for chicken and a memorable salad with strawberries, pineapple, walnuts etc. Very colourful presentation. Service was good even when under pressure

Handy to and a part of the Old Town district. Menu was ample, crowded weekends. Our hosts like this place for Breakfasts; which the title suggests. Corner Location, "....memories of long ago..."
