with these positive reviews that the place wasn't busier. I have eaten there twice and it was excellent both times. The staff was very pleasant about telling me the special for the night and bringing a little bit in a cup for me to taste it. The chips and salsa were good as was the house (red) wine. I even... I went to Salinas w/my friend & my 4 year old daughter. My friend wanted to check out Pica because she heard/saw good things about it online. Well, let me tell you....we were SOOOO impressed we went back again the next night! The staff is friendly, nice, & welcoming. The chips & salsa are both home-made and DELICIOUS! Our dinners... More

Was recommended by front desk staff at Best 5 Hotel to try this place to eat. Nice location in downtown which was charming. Food was amazing. Authentic Mexican with an American twist. The hot sauce was flaming but the food was delicious. The staff was welcoming and kind. Only issue was the place seemed kinda dead. Needed music and more... More

We went here based on reviews we saw posted. My boyfriend and I were glad we did. We walked in around 9pm, and were immediately welcomed. We ordered brochetas (unsure of spelling) and steak tacos. Also, the salsa, chips and guac were free which was a major plus! Total for our dinner : $25!

After reading some of the reviews on Tripadvisor, we walked in on a Monday night to an empty neighborhood (Old downtown Salinas) and to an even more empty restaurant. Looks like a family run business. Friendly service. We took out. The price were very good and the food tasted really good. We went with the home made tortillas and they... More

Good food at a great price. The dining room is a little odd -- kind of figure-eight shaped. I had the chicken fajitas, and a friend had the chicken enchiladas. Not bad at all. Very tasty, and worthy of a second visit.

Pica's has a great menu. It is NOT your run-of-the-mill taqueria. Plan on spending some time to really check out the menu. The downside (for me) is that none of the tortillas are made in house. Other than that, I highly recommend Pica's. Service is great, the cooks are awesome. Sheesh, just writing this gets me thinking about going there... More

My companion and I were on the way to a concert and planned to go to the brewery in what is called "Old Town Salinas" before the show. It turned out the brewery was closed so we gladly stepped into the Mexican place next door. There are several parking areas (municipal and 90-minute) around the block, and it is right... More
