It's not very WOW in decor nor does it have overly outgoing staff but the food is GREAT. I love the lemon grass chicken and sizzling rice soup.

Our weekly place for a fast lunch that isn't too expensive. They've been in Oldtown for a long time and the owners greet you like a long lost friend even on your first visit. Eat there or take it with you if you're in a hurry. Chicken & Shrimp chow mein is my favorite item but the menu is very... More

It was refreshing to find a Chinese restaurant that had an extensive vegetarian menu and which understood the vegetarian also meant not having seafood or eggs. The staff were very familiar with what they could make and could not make that was vegetarian and the service was very friendly and fast. The food was excellent and the prices where not... More

I ate here based upon trip advisor recommendations. The restaurant is located in an older building. The food is served hot, basic and tasty. It does not remind me of the traditional Chinese restaurants I am used to but comes close. I had the Mau Poa Tofu Shrimp and Hot and Sour Soup. Both were decent. It you are in... More

Great tasting and fresh. Don't be fooled by the "hole in the wall" atmosphere. This is solid chinese food and the service was great. The tables, walls, and floor were clean. Totally satisfied and would visit again.

This place has reasonable and tasty food for a good price. The atmosphere is moderate, service (too?) fast and the restroom not fresh.. For a quick and cheap meal it's a good option, but don't go for the ambiance. And try and avoid the restroom

We were in Salinas for one night while exploring the Monterey bay and wanted to have Chinese food. The food was amazing (we had Teriyaki Chicken and Beef Chow Mein), the portions were generous, the place was clean, and the service (albeit a bit prompt) was good. It's also inexpensive (less than 25$ for two people).

This place is worth the long excursion off of the 101 and into downtown Salinas. they have an amazingly large menu with a set lunch (soup, entree, beverage). I had Szechuan chicken and they cooked a custom stir-fried vegetable dish for my spouse. We each had hot and sour soup. We arrived well past the peak of the lunch hour,... More

Food is always good and fresh. It is family owned and the service is outstanding. Sam, one of the owners, is friendly, personable, and always takes a personal interest in the food and service. They will go out of their way to individualize your order as well.

We have been eating at the Eagle since it opened and don't go anywhere else for Chinese food. There specialties are memorable- try the walnut prawns for an unexpected treat. The owners are always friendly and helpful. If you can't make a decision- they will always point you in the right direction. Food is fresh, prepared individually. Lunch specials are... More
