Went here for brunch in April 2014 after doing some shopping in lovely St. Helena. We were advised to check this place out and I was interested in trying the northern Italian cuisine. Despite the fact that we showed up at 1:30pm the vast majority of the items on the standard menu were unavailable. The atmosphere is dark and uninviting... More

four of us went for dinner - two had ok fish dish, one had pasta which they said was tasteless, I need gluten free and had sea food risotto - it had minimal seafood, was wet and had an unpleasant taste and texture - flour free chocolate cake was good overpriced, horribly noisy like a bar - they need to... When we travel we always like to find the spots the locals would go too if they had a choice. This is one of those spots that was recommended by several locals. We did have a reservation and I would highly recommend you get one as Cook is a small spot. The vibe is wonderful, service great, and food outstanding.... More

We had a late lunch after wine tasting upon a recommendation by our guide, Dan Dolen. We shared mussels, which were delicious and most of us had the BLT sandwich, maybe the best I've had. Staff was also great, especially since we showed up at the end of the lunch hour.

Reviews all read great so why were we disappointed? We could not get the reservation we wanted so we accepted earlier and yet a couple walked in off the street with no reservations and got the table in front of us. For $120 dinner for two we were in and out in one hour. Very noisey, could barely hear the... More

Our monthly date night for February was a great movie at the Cameo, right next door to Cook restaurant. Always get your reservations in early, they are a locals favorite. Service always good and so is their menu. Wine list prices very reasonable with lots of locals to chose from. On of the ratings ask for, "best meals ever", is... More

What a gem! We were referred here by one of the Beringer Vineyard employees and was very satisfied with this selection. While we didn't have a reservation, we were seated immediately. The value of the meal perfectly matched what we received. The meal itself was excellent and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend this location for dinner and will... More

We enjoyed a superb lunch of Burrata, calamari and antipasti. Service was outstanding: polite, attentive and friendly. Calamari was the best outside Italy EVER. Not greasy or chewy -- just fresh high quality and prepared to perfection. This is a great spot to break your morning touring and settle in for a high quality prepared lunch with a mediterranean flavor.... More

Normally we have a few other others as dependable go to's, but last Saturday the menu at Cook sounded perfect. We had been showing off the CIA to family earlier, and after the cooking demonstra we were ready to eat. This place is tiny, bustling, crowded, and very much inviting. The hostess asked if we had reservations and I said... More
