You don't have to spend tons of money to have a delicious meal in Napa. Nice place & decor, good service, excellent food. There's only 3 italian restaurants that I've found in the states that come close to authentic Italian: Genaros in the upper West Side in NYC, Trattoria del Sole in South Miami, and Cook. I had a fettucini... more

Cook was recommended to us by a trusted source but we were sorely disappointed. The food was good, but probably would have seemed much better had our service been acceptable. Server was pretentious, hard to track down and inattentive. The place is very small and we felt like we were part of the business meeting happening at the next table.... more

We were walking along in St. Helena and stumbled on Cook. It's a small restaurant specializing in pasta. We started with a salad and then had their pasta of the day. What a treat! I don't know the last time I had pasta that was this good. I definitely would go back to this restaurant. We paid a $15 corkage... more

My wife and I had a very enjoyable dinner at Cook. This seems like more of a local hangout than a tourist place, which is always appealing to us. I had a seafood risotto and she had a caprese salad (mozzarella, local tomatoes, balsamic), both were very fresh and simply prepared. Lots of local wines on the menu as well.... more

We stumbled upon Cook as we walked thru town looking for a quick lunch after touring wine country...What a find! It was a little busy when we walked in, so we decided to leave and see what else we might find in the area - a customer near the door told us they were leaving soon, and it would be... more

WOW! who'd a thunk it??? After all the fine places we had eaten, and the pricey meals we had enjoyed, how did we luck up on this gem? The meal here rivaled even the most expensive places we ate. Everything was outstanding, from the appetizer to the salad to the entree to the dessert. What a find! A local establishment... more

We've been twice this year and liked it both times. Staff was really friendly first time, average second time. Had a lovely corn risotto recently and it was really good. We like that we can dress casual and get good food. There's a movie theater nearby that we plan to try before dinner next time. more

We ate lunch at Cook after visiting a winery in the morning. We arrived just before noon, and within half an hour the restaurant was pretty full. The food was great; we shared a Caesar salad, I had a risotto special, and my husband had a sandwich. The special was a bit pricey for lunch, but very good. The service... more

Delightful and informal place that attracts broad range of clientèle. Interior is charming fusion of rustic and relaxed cafe. We were surrounded by wine-makers on all sides, discussing the merits or otherwise of high 'brix'. No distraction though as this is some of the best Italian food that I ate in California. Light, flavourful, and modern, the simplicity and quality... more

So, you won't break the bank and you will eat like you are!! Chic, quaint, warm restaurant. It's tiny so call ahead if you want a table. LOVED IT!! Ask for Jarrod to recommend a wine. He was super chill but knowledgeable. They made us feel so welcome, relaxed and happy! Fabulous food, what more do you need? I will... more
