Great staff

We ate there for our Anniversary, for a special night. Food was good but way over priced, we were very surprised. Portions were very small, very nicely presented, and the staff explained every portion. The atmosphere was wonderful, very formal, children would probably not be welcome. Attire was... read more

We ate at this place last summer and it was the worst dining experience of our lives. We felt defrauded because The Restaturant makes all these promises in its webpage, like personalized menu after discussion with chef or staff, but none of this is true, the service is snobby and robotic and the food is atrocious. So I'm not surprised... More

A delightfully understated California style dining room - a tree in the middle, leather placemats, gorgeous handcrafted earthenware rather than fine china. A staff that was attentive and formal without being pretentious, friendly without being obtrusive. A kitchen that delighted course after course - that oyster with nearly frozen kohlrabi! The minced whelk! It went on and on, and of... More

We were thrilled when we learned that The Restaurant at Meadowood had 3 Michelin stars, specializes in local, sustainable California cuisine and had been named as one of the 20 most important restaurants in America. Sad to say that we were not only completely disappointed but we found that our experience added new meaning to the word pretentious. The food grown... More

Despite our expectations of great food and wine, our experience was simply okay. It may have been our fault to expect near perfection, but the food was overly complicated and not particularly memorable. This was further complicated by a dispute with the staff over our wine (a Dugat-Py), which showed the effects of early stage corkage. Instead of simply agreeing... More

We have a very small service dog. The person who brought us to the table said that a small chair would be brought for the service dog's carrier. We ordered $2000+ in wine and were looking forward to a lovely dinner. Nothing happened on the chair. So, we asked the waiter; he said he'd bring one. Nothing happened. We ate... More

Let me start by stating that it was very nice of the Meadowood staff to accommodate us without a reservation - something French Laundry could not do ! However the inspiration and anticipation stopped right there ! The beautiful foyer and seating area as well as well set up Bar welcomed us and we wanted to look at what the... More

We arrived at The Restaurant at Meadowood with high expectations, and were pleasantly surprised with the level of service we encountered upon arrival. The service was second to none throughout the night. The food, however, was absolutely terrible. The menu was prepared for us by the chef, so we had no input or choices. The only dish that was recognizable... More

There are many subordinate ways of grading a restaurant – the staff, the welcome, the interior design, the wine list. On each of these, the restaurant at Meadowood excels. Unfortunately, the taste of the food is the most important criteria, and on this count, Meadowood flunks. Clearly there’s no shortage of people willing to pay more than $500 for a... More

We had very high expectations to dine at The Restaurant at Meadowood. We reserved a table several months before and got a confirmation call one week before, which was all good. However, the dinner itself didn't live up to our expectations, especially considering the high price tag for a dinner for two (we paid more than USD 1000, incl. tax... More
