It was fine.

Food was good. Wine pairings were good too. Dessert was disappointing. Service was excellent. Doesn't sound like I'm describing something you'd pay $1000 for two people for, right? We didn't think so either. Nothing was bad by any means, but given that you could try three other Napa... read more

We didn't think so either. Nothing was bad by any means, but given that you could try three other Napa restaurants for the price...I'd skip it. We weren't hugely disappointed, but would... More

Yes, this restaurant costs an arm and a leg, but it's worth every penny. Every course was so creative, and the service absolutely impeccable. It's truly an experience!!

Wonderful imagination and good - no great - taste contrasts mark the food in the Restaurant as outstanding. The tomato wild plum beet creme fraiche opener showed delicacy of flavouring. Daylily spot prawn was succulent. Coal seared squab (pigeon in a paper bag) was a delightful surprise. The tasting menu merited a michelin three star award by any and every... More

Without a doubt my visit to Meadowood was the single most incredible culinary experience of my life. From the moment we entered we were greeted with warmth and care. The journey through each course was so well crafted it felt like we were in a performance art piece. I can not call it a meal, I can only say that... More

We had dinner tonight at The Restaurant. The service and the staff were superb. The location is gorgeous. The ambiance is totally upscale and very elegant. The food was a total disappointment. We spent a lot of money to enjoy the mashed potatoes and the cheese bread. We would not recommend going here...we won't return.

Yes, I am a foodie. I thoroughly the thought, energy, techniques that are put together by very clever head chefs and their staff. Who would think that eating puffed Kale was wonderful. I did. Then there was mashed potato and caviar - wow !! Such simple things are turned into works of culinary art. Dining at The Restaurant at Meadowood,... More

We traveled from the east coast to Napa-St. Helena, drove from San Francisco, and had a nice suite up in the hills. Our agent made a 9pm reservation for us, with the promise that we could dine earlier. We waited over an hour in the lovely lounge, met a lovely sommelier, read a great wine list, had a few drinks,... If you don't have time for a full meal, I strongly recommend enjoying the bar lounge and the tasting menu available. While it isn't the full restaurant experience, you will get a good sample of the style and techniques of the culinary team - Chef Kostow may even stop by.

Recently, a few of my gourmet friends invited my wife and I to join their Christmas season celebrations at this restaurant. We had a wonderful dinning experience. Except for one undistinguished course (egg white), I enjoyed all other courses in the tasting menu. Although some of the dishes were crafted by the guest Chef Gauthier from France and may not...
