I had heard great things about this restaurant but also read some recent reviews that said when they transitioned to students having a larger role than the supervising professional chefs, the quality went down ... my friend and I did not have that experience at all. The food quality was fantastic - every bit from the appetizer, salad, entrees, and... More

We have driven by Greystone many times and admired the grounds and building and finally decided to give it a try. We were served by a CIA student named James who recommended that we start with the Greystone Garden Salad, which was delicious. I ordered the Brick–Roasted Chicken and my companion decided to try the Wild Pacific King Salmon. They... More

While the restaurant has good food and attentive service, I do not think that it is exceptional comparing to other good restaurants in the Napa valley. Still, i would recommend this place because of the excellent location and the view you have, especially when seating outside close to sunset.

We were looking forward to our meal at the CIA. As might be expected the grounds were impressive with the large stone building set into the green hill side. We arrived 45 minutes early to explore the other parts of the CIA beside the Wine Spec. Greystone restaurant. The store has an impressive assembly of cooking utensils and a ton... More

The positives: our student server was well spoken, thoughtful & very attentive. The restaurant is beautiful. Our entrees were delicious. The negatives: Signage is terrible. It was difficult to determine where were supposed to park, where the entrance is, where the store is. Apparently there is valet parking. We drove up a steep hill to it but we were early... More

This is on the campus of the CIA. From the front staff, to the waiters/waitresses, to the chefs --- all CIA students in their last months of training. Very friendly and informative about the menu. Wine choices were excellent. Food was very flavorful. Not many options on the menu which was fine. The place looked enormous and probably could have... More

This was a great choice for a mini wedding reception that we had last Saturday. We had a destination style wedding in SF and wanted to have some friends (25) help us celebrate in Napa. We happen to be foodie type people and I enjoy wine, so we ended up deciding on trying out Greystone, which we have wanted to... More

We went for lunch during the week in February and they weren't too busy. We chose to sit at the bar overlooking the kitchen which was fun to watch! The food was delicious with good flavor. To save money we went for a light lunch which was perfect! Afterwards it is fun to walk around the culinary institute and see... More

We ate out on the terrace and had the wine pairings with the fixed menu. Each course was very interesting and delicious (the melon salad was a nice surprise). Service was a bit slow, but that just gave us more time to enjoy the views. Dinner was also very reasonably priced, especially for the area. We had a fabulous experience... More

I'd seen mixed reviews on this restaurant, but count me in for 5 *! This adventure was a birthday gift for my wife's parents. We all agreed that it was worth the 90 mile drive. We had a 5 pm reservation on Saturday, Jan 4, 2014, and we were treated to a 4-course meal. The bread was served first and... More
