We always enjoy eating at Greystone. The price is reasonable and the food ranges from good to exceptional. You can request recipes and try them yourself--warning, they will be challenging! This past fall the students took over the entire management of the restaurant. Because that reduced the staffing levels, hours have been cut. Lunch is no longer served. Dinner is... More

The students do all the cooking and serving here. Food was pretty good, the students ranged from nervous to very fun. A good way to spend a night out different from high-end dining.

The restaurant had a 4 day "pop up" special with a chef form the Abruzzo region of Italy directing a special farm to table menu. The students working the tables were all from the Hyde Park (NY) campus of CIA. It is a MUST to engage these interesting people in conversation. It is silly to think they are just going... More

We arrived about 15 minutes before our 5:30 reservation which was the first seating of the night. We waited and enjoyed watching the staff preparing to open. We were the first people seated and it was almost 5:45. By 7:15 we had been served one course. The student waitstaff were trying to be helpful and do great service. Not sure... More

I had been looking forward to seeing what the Culinary Institute of America student-run restaurant would offer but had been concerned about recent reviews here. I'm glad I chose to go forward with my plans. Our party of four had a fine meal, the service was flawless, and I think it was a very good value.

I went here for dinner with a group and we had a set menu. It was supposed to be a four course dinner with wines for each course. It turned out the first course was passed appetizers. The second was a small salad. They changed the third course without telling anyone. Desert was served without wine. I would never go... More

it was fun to see the energy of students working. food was good, reasonably priced for value, I would recommend going, though not as great as other places in the area.

My wife and I, along with our good friends, dined at Greystone Restaurant after a day of wine tasting in Napa. It was difficult to choose from the variety of entrees - and we all chose something different - but the food was excellent, beautifully presented and delicious. The students did an outstanding job preparing and serving the food, and... More

We have been looking forward to our dinner at the Culinary Institute of America's Greystone Restaurant. We were excited to see what one of the best cooking schools in the world could produce. Since March, the restaurant has been student-run and so we were expecting to see some creativity. We were very disappointed. First the good part. The atmosphere is... More

We had high hopes for a nice romantic evening. The atmosphere was perfect along with the food. They appeared to be overbooked that evening but they attempted to make us comfortable. They even gave both my wife and myself a glass of champagne because it was her birthday. However, the service left a lot to be desired. It just seemed... More
