Dinner in St. Helena with the husband

My husband and I came here 2 weekends ago as part of my surprise trip to Napa! The ambiance is really nice. It's in an old house off of Main St. We were seated right away and greeted by the bartender as well. Always good. A waitress was very nice and not overbearing which is always a plus. We stopped by here on our way to Oregon during a week day and quickly realized we probably should have made reservations! We were graciously seated and enjoyed a great lunch and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend this place but make reservations!

We arrived with 8 people and no reservation and the host reacted as if we had personally offended him. We were reprimanded for not having a reservation and instructed on proper wine county etiquette. We would have left but the restaurant was fairly empty and we were hungry. We were very glad we stayed. Our wait staff was very apologetic... More

I took an old friend who lives in California, and was worried because he's a bit of a gourmet, but we had a really great meal, good service etc. Can't remember exactly what! Only advice is don't expect to stay there late -- the place rolls up by about 10.

Walked in with no reservations (the off season) and were seated quickly. Good food and great service. Backstreet in the name is literal as you have to park back there to get in. Old building with nice atmosphere. Nice and quiet so we could hear each other talk.

I always hit Cindy's when in St. Helena. This time I took my wife and parents while on our holiday vacation to Napa Valley. My folks had not been before. We sat at the bar, was around 2 pm on a Monday. Bartender was fantastic and our food was amazing, as ususal. Bottom line: if you are a foodie and... More

Cindy's is not the fanciest place in town but the food is unsurpassed. They always have a seasonal special that is usually the best choice. Her soups are fantastic and the meats and fish are inventive and hearty. The people are super friendly - especially at the bar where you are always made to feel like a regular. Also the... More

Friends took us here for a very enjoyable dinner. You can bring your own wine, wait staff made us feel instantly at home and the food was hearty and very good. I had the stuffed peppers as a main course. Everyone enjoyed their respective choices and the booths just give you a very private, quiet space to enjoy each other's... More

We've been to Cindy's a number of times and have never been disappointed. This visit was one of the best. We enjoyed a great lunch. The curry chicken salad was deliciously special. If it was a dish that would have kept on a shelf, I would have ordered multiple orders to go just to have it on hand. Chunks of... More

Food was amazing. Not sure what inspired me to try the meatloaf but i am so glad i did. The sauce on top of the loaf was amazing. My husband tried the porkchops and roasted brussel sprouts. Both dishes were amazing. The only turn off was i witnessed a female waitress putting her fingers in her mouth. Restaurant staff really... More
