After tasting some lovely wines we stopped here for lunch . Building dates back to 1890 Has been a hotel or restaurant since 1920. Our server "Summer" (named this because she was born in October 😃) was very knowledgeable. Food was great I would especially recommend for lunch the "adult grilled cheese sandwich" served with polenta fries. Washed down with... More

The wait staff all wear jeans and the atmosphere casual but the food is truly outstanding. Even their grilled cheese (two kinds) sandwich is an entrée sensation. Owner/ chef Cindy Pawlcyn was a James Beard nominee for 2015 best restauranteur of the year. We visited St Helena several times before discovering this gem since its literally on a back street.... While in Napa and Sonoma tasting wines, we stopped in St Helena to wander through the shops and have lunch. This had been recommended by both Trip Advisor and Yelp so we stopped for a late lunch. Without reservations, we were seated almost immediately. My husband had the mango and avocado salad and I opted for the charred asparagus salad... More

Tbh we were heading to Farmstead for lunch and they were busy due to a couple of buses coming through...we went to Cindy's as an alternative, never having been before. We started with grilled artichoke and an asparagus small plate both of which were delicious. I had a curried chicken salad and my wife had the lobster salad. Both were... More

Everything about this place is great. Service was awesome. Wine selection great. Filet was perfectly cooked. Even the bread and dessert were great. One of the best places in the state. This is a can't miss stop.

We met friends that live in Santa Rosa for a visit. We had the 'burgers and thoroughly enjoyed them in this fine restaurant. There is outdoor seating available along with many little rooms in the restaurant. Service was with a smile, the host was most kind. We want to return

Couldn't wait to eat at this restaurant and it didn't disappoint! The drinks were as good as the food. The scallops were cooked to perfection and delicious.

This is my favorite kind of restaurant- casual atmosphere with great quality food. We stopped in for lunch and enjoyed a really flavorful meatloaf, grilled cheese and a wonderful cocktail. We loved the meal and the atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit.

We always enjoy having lunch at Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen. The food is consistently delicious with large proportions. The oyster appetizer is sinfully excellent. The fish and chips are the best and my favorite is the pasta special. It's all good. Of course, the desserts are too tempting to say no. Go for the lemon tart pie. Wow!
