Great service, flavorful food, just a bit too exotic!? Small plates were full of flavor, but 1 fish dish came out all bones. Not edible. Another was over cooked and rubbery. Good experience, but once was enough

The only reason Terra restaurant is getting 3 stars is due to the fact that they are bit overrated. The food was definitely above average, but did not blow me away (as I would expect a 1 Michelin star restaurant to do). The dishes were typical and not one plate had me raving. Dessert was horribly below average. That being... More

I have been to terra about half a dozen times, possibly more. One of the best things to have is the lobster tortelloni. They are big slightly chewy dough rolls filled with lobster in wonderful, mild, slightly tomato-y broth. It is a signature dish and I was so glad to see them in the tasting menu! They have really good... More

The dining room is small [this is not the bar area], so book ahead. The food is intruiging [Japanese influence] and and very, very good! Service was very knowledeable and pleasant.

I loved the choose-your-own tasting menu. As a pescatarian, I had lots of options. The staff was friendly an unpretentious. The plates were just the right size; I had 4 and a dessert. One excellent surprise was the uni. I had tried it before and not liked it, and this was so delicious! I will surely return here next time... More

A little surprised that in wine country, and at a restaurant whose owner/chef's family is in the wine business, the wine selection would be so limited. We had a nice meal though -- especially liked the black cod in shiso broth, the crude flight with uni, and the tripe pasta in brown gravy -- and the service was excellent.

The first thing one should know is that the menu is ala carte. You can pick four, five or six entrees starting at $75 per person. While the selection is diverse and long, the average diner must navigate through a variety of accompanying offal sides with the majority of dishes. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable. The wait staff are... More

We went there last night. This was the last Michelin starred restaurant that I still hadn't dined in Napa. I was happy to check it off my list. Over all, the food was pretty good. Heavy Japanese influence, which is what I like. A bit too salty in a few dishes but I like the flavor. The Chawamushi was the... More

The wait staff was fantastic. The food was pretentious and not very tasty. Beautiful to look at but lacked flavor. I wouldn't eat there again. I had a salad that was cucumbers surrounding a mound of spaghetti topped with a spoonful of caviar. Sounds great-- but lacked flavor. The rest of the meal was similar. Beautiful, but not worth a... Never got to the dinner part. When I ordered a Martini with Bleu Cheese stuffed olives, I was told, " we don't do that"! What???? The chef refused, okay, I get that. I never asked that the chef do it. But what about the bartender, it's his job? I was given a small plate with a few cheese crumbs on... More
