O good so very good

I thought it was going to be a little stuffy, being St. Helena and all. But I felt comfortable as soon as I walked through the doors. Cosy, inviting and the service was excellent. Had the Montreal steak with a torcon of fois gras melting on top. To die for. The porkbelly was also excellent. And I... read more

We went here for lunch on the recommendation of some friends that had been to Napa before us. The food is amazing. We had the fried chicken sandwich and the pork belly, both with duck fat fries. We had drinks off the menu, I really liked the 3 dots and a dash drink, and on top of that the deserts... More

Get the mushroom soup...there is nothing else left to say. It was the best I EVER had! I wish I had gone back during our visit for a second bowl

Went with 4 other chefs, weeknight around 8pm. Fairly slow night, great service with lots of personality and knowledge. Tried at least 8-10 dishes and the only disappointing dish was the fois gras, also the most expensive. Everything else was well executed but pretty small portions. Wonderful craft cocktails and good wine list although more expensive than Market restaurant for... More

It's nearly impossible to find a decent place to eat in the valley past 9pm. We stopped here for a quick bite to eat after arriving in the area late at night. We were pleasantly surprised to find they serve their bar menu until 11pm. My husband and I split a burger and duck fat fries, which were excellent. Service... More

My husband and I loved our lunch at Goose and Gander. It was a rainy, chilly day, and our seat by the fireplace in a wood paneled room of this old house was just the escape we needed. I found the menu both classic and original-- a few unexpected surprises here and there. My husband enjoyed his burger very much,... More

We ate downstairs in the bar area late in the afternoon. There seemed to be great consternation that the refrigeration was not working properly. We snacked on the Spanish octopus, smelts, hamachi crudo, and smoked corn croquettes. Washed it down with Sancerre, Henri Bourgeois-Damnes. Everyone was on auto pilot, so service didn't seem sincere, nor engaging. The food was adequate,... More

This restaurant was recommended by the staff of our hotel in Yountville. My husband had a burger and I had the duck, we went for lunch. Our cocktails were excellent, and the food was incredible. Cooked perfectly. We are good cooks ourselves, and find it hard to enjoy a meal outside of our home, but Goose & Gander was a... More

We had dinner here a couple nights ago and the place was pretty crowded (popular). We had heard good things about the bar and wanted to get down there too but it was jammed. So the next day we went back early and were lucky just to get our drinks. We tried ordering food but they seemed to lose the... More
