Year after year this is said to be Sacramento's best. Product is rarely fresh, much comes from the freezer-previously baked. Pastry cream from a powder mix and cakes that are dry, dry, dry unless soaked with syrup to bring back some moistness. It is apparent many in this city have never tasted fresh baked goods made from scratch with high... More

We stopped here for a last minute birthday cake while visiting our family in sacramento. I used previous reviews to find the best bakery in the area that we were close to. We chose a red velvet cake which was pre decorated with pink fondant flowers. They also wrote a personalized happy birthday on it t. The cake was delicious!... More

So fortunate to have this wonderful little bakery in the neighborhood. It's been there for as long as I can remember. Some of our favorites are the pragels (a bagel but tastes like a pretzel) with spread, black bottom muffins, cheese rings, bran muffins with cream cream (microwave for 15 seconds!). For cakes, the fruit basket and raspberry torte, which... More

Freeport Bakery is always our first choice for treats for special occasions. Freeport's specialty cakes are always perfect for birthday, graduation, and anniversary parties. If it's my birthday, I request the presence of the Seville Marnier. Every Thanksgiving I get a pie and rosemary rolls. And I work my way down their Christmas menu. Thank you Freeport Bakery for being... More

I've been coming here for 2 decades, Freeport Bakery has been the corner stone of our family gatherings. You could always count on a delicious, made from scratch, with real ingredients; I never minded the extra cost because I was getting topnotch desserts. Work took me away for 8 months and one of my first stops when I returned was... More

I have been coming here for many years, was never disappointed until my Nov. 2, 2013 visit. My friend ordered a slice of the Grand Marnier and poppyseed cake, it was dry and could not taste any of the Grand Marnier orange/citrus flavor. I ordered several iced cookies, the cookie flavor was blah, frosting was ok. We concluded there must... More

ordered pear fladen - taste ok, but skimped on pear and barely covered the crust - more crust than pear.

Go out of your way to visit this bakery. The goods are delicious and beautiful and you are supporting small business in America. Great spot to gather for coffee, lunch, or take out. Custom cakes are also available.

Shadow fresca is chocolate cake with strawberry ...to die for. People love it when we have parties. All of their baked goods are not extremely sweet, but light and fluffy. Must try! We do not get many good bakeries in sac area. Call for hours and the desired baked goods because they tend to sell-out if come late in the... More
