We loved dinner at Ellas. Appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts were all top notch and unique. Could not recommend this restaurant more highly.

We went to Ella for our 12th anniversary after hearing great reviews from friends. The place is an eclectic mix of local happy hour hipsters, older folks dressed to the 9s (on their way to the opera), event celebrators (like us) and families with birthdays, etc. In other words, anything goes. They sat us near the bar, which was initially... More

We found a lot to like in our first dining experience at Ella. Some creative and delicious cocktails, equally creative and delicious "small plates" like bourbon baked oysters, cedar-plank roasted Toma cheese, and bacon-wrapped trout and pan-seared scallops for dinner. A great wine list with both domestic and international selections. Not sure if our server was having an off night,... More

Went with the family (ages 10 to 70) for a birthday dinner, and was pleased that we were treated & seated well despite have a child with us. The G&T was truly delicious, the shrimp cocktail was perfect, the pork chop was a tad overcooked but had great flavor. My son ordered the fried chicken and ate every bite (no... More

This is a GREAT restaurant. My wife and I recently visited Sacramento, and found the restaurants to be terrific. This was the best of the bunch. From the Artisan Cheese Board to the wood fired Pork Chop, everything was delicious and fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful, and assisted us in selecting a great bottle of local wine. You... This upscale eatery offers interesting dishes, nice wines, and a full bar in a pleasant contemporary setting. They seem to specialize in seafood dishes prepared in a wide variety of ways, including grilled options. Salads and soups are also very good.

I was sold on this place when I was told they 1) cork your bottle of wine and 2) make cocktails from scratch. Literally, they make their own tonic water - nothing is from a mix. We enjoyed the friend brioche which was good, but super sticky and sweet for a pre-dinner snack. The scallops where phenomenal. If you're into... More

I can't decide what I like more the food or the gin and tonic. I'm not a gin and tonic guy, but heard about how good Ella's made them. I was skeptical, but cannot get enough of this drink. I highly recommend the Salmon and Beet Salad, but you really can't go wrong here.

Three of us went to this nice downtown restaurant hoping for a place where we could have productive conversations and good food. Both objectives met! Excellent food, two of us had the steak and frites, done right set the stage for great conversation. The steak was grilled perfectly medium rare and accompanied by great frites. The wine list offered excellent... More

We go to Sellands two/three times a month. It's great ... food, staff and ambiance ... nothing pretentious about it. The prices are also reasonable. No, this is not a review for Sellands, but rather it's upscale sister, Ella's Dining Room. Except for the physical layout and decor, it's everything that Selands is not ... pretentious, overpriced and a bit... More
