Elegant Ella

Ella is a lovely restaurant right in downtown Sacramento. The food is excellent and the service is superb. We think of it as a "special occastion" destination, but it's a lovely place for anyone visiting Sacramento and is within walking distance of downtown hotels. Beautiful ambiance.

setting: Right in downtown Sacramento. Very welcoming spacey, airy feel when you enter. Very nice bar tables. Has also outside seating options. Very artist designer style on the inside with very high ceilings. Has a very nice ambience. For parking you need to use the valet or a parking garage. Food: It blows you away. we had the shrimps with... More

A really nice restaurant with great service. Went to day with colleagues and had the oysters and the beet salad. Very fresh and a beautiful presentation. Had a Negroni adult beverage and if I closed my eyes could swear I was in Italy drinking this beverage. Friends had the fried chicken and salmon and everyone enjoyed their entree. I don't... More

Beautiful restaurant, very good service, very mediocre food. Food was overpriced, small portions, pretentious. Will not return. Too many other good restaurants in Sacramento.

Was visiting for the Unified Winery Convention. Went with co-workers. Ordered oysters on a half shell and Lobster. The oysters were good, the cocktail sauce not so. the Lobster was rubbery but acceptable. Cool in-place for the in-crowd. Wines very, very expensive, the wine list was extensive and our waiter very knowledgeable.

Stumbled upon this during Sacramento’s Bacon Week (don’t even remember how I discovered this week was taking place; was coincidentally here on business). Supposedly this restaurant was the only one I could find that was partaking in the theme this particular Tuesday night. This included a whiskey based bacon drink (which extremely excited me as there was no bacon vodka,... More

Love this restaurant. Great Farm to Fork experience. Great service, amazing food. Ella's has helped establish Sacramento as a dining capital (yes Sacramento!). It's the small things that Ella's does - from bring out "an extra appetizer the chef made" to having lint free napkins. The food is always fantastic, prepared just right - never drowned out by the sauce... More

Six years ago, the four of us had dinner at Ella's. Five days ago, we returned. This will be a very short review for Ella's requires no accolades or critiques. In my lifetime, I have dined in some great restaurants; but seldom have I dined at extraordinary restaurants. Ella's is extraordinary in the same way that Galatoires is in New... More

Hubs and I met on NYE, so we always go out and we've experienced the good, bad and ugly over 42 years-and on more than one continent. Went for New Years Eve which cannot be a good measure for day to day operations. Space is sleek, modern and inviting. Menu was prix fixe ith no substitutions. I'm not very adventuresome... More

Came here with a few coworkers for a pre-Christmas lunch. We started with drinks, and for appetizers - deviled eggs, and prawns. Both appetizers were very tasty. I ordered the steak and my coworkers both had the Crab Louie. We all were very happy with our choices. I have been here a few times for dinner, and if you are... More
