Stumbled upon this during Sacramento’s Bacon Week (don’t even remember how I discovered this week was taking place; was coincidentally here on business). Supposedly this restaurant was the only one I could find that was partaking in the theme this particular Tuesday night. This included a whiskey based bacon drink (which extremely excited me as there was no bacon vodka,... More

Love this restaurant. Great Farm to Fork experience. Great service, amazing food. Ella's has helped establish Sacramento as a dining capital (yes Sacramento!). It's the small things that Ella's does - from bring out "an extra appetizer the chef made" to having lint free napkins. The food is always fantastic, prepared just right - never drowned out by the sauce... More

Six years ago, the four of us had dinner at Ella's. Five days ago, we returned. This will be a very short review for Ella's requires no accolades or critiques. In my lifetime, I have dined in some great restaurants; but seldom have I dined at extraordinary restaurants. Ella's is extraordinary in the same way that Galatoires is in New... More

Hubs and I met on NYE, so we always go out and we've experienced the good, bad and ugly over 42 years-and on more than one continent. Went for New Years Eve which cannot be a good measure for day to day operations. Space is sleek, modern and inviting. Menu was prix fixe ith no substitutions. I'm not very adventuresome... More

Came here with a few coworkers for a pre-Christmas lunch. We started with drinks, and for appetizers - deviled eggs, and prawns. Both appetizers were very tasty. I ordered the steak and my coworkers both had the Crab Louie. We all were very happy with our choices. I have been here a few times for dinner, and if you are... More

Trendy foody food. Fresh ingredients, interesting combinations. The salmon is amazing and the salads are great. They offer weekly specials and the burger is amazing. My favorite part is the cold seafood bar. They have the best oysters anywhere.

My wife and I enjoyed another outstanding night out at Ella's, in Downtown Sacramento. We go there a couple of times a year for the Happy Hour drinks, small plate fares, and dinner. We were not disappointed. Seasonal drink specials and dinner entrees...perfect. While dinner and drinks can be pricey the quality of the food and excellent service makes, for... More

This is a lovely venue with classic decor and a nice menu. Unfortunately, the service and fare don't live up to the Selland reputation. Our dinner started with cocktails at the bar, which was crowded with diners. When we were seated, it was in a corner next to a curtained area on the other side of which was a large... More

These folks know their food. It is a special occasion place due to their prices, but given their portions it is still a good value. This is farm to fork at its best. Everything from bread to dessert is outstanding. They also make amazing cocktails from scratch. It's my go to place when in Sacramento.

This is a mediocre restaurant. The food is average. Service is most often slow and one wonders if the staff really care. I've been here three times because friends want to try it out. I agree only for their sake. The last visit, we waited 15 minutes to order a drink which took another 15 minutes to get. The place... More
