The food and wine are superb at Ella Dining Room & Bar, one of the three eating establishments owned by the Selland Group, and locally esteemed chef, Randall Selland. The restaurant features fresh ingredients, innovative preparation and tempting presentations. Small dishes like the smoked trout salad, and entrees are primarily fish and meat based, but such appealing appetizers as a... More

We had a lunch meeting at this place and started off with beet salad for appetizer and it was pleasantly surprisingly delicious. I wish there was more in the plate though. For entree I had salmon with cranberry beans, mole, gypsy peppers and salsa verde. It was joyfully satisfying. For desert I picked the coconut cube which was equally decadent.... More

Visiting Sacramento for a business convention, Ella was recommended to several of our companions by our hotel's conciege. Great recommendation. We were lucky visiting the city during their week long Farm to Fork Festival celebrating sustainable meat and produce from surrounding farms. As several other posters have commented, Ella makes excellent use of the bounty from California's Central Valley. On... More

From the service to the food everything was top notch. We were in town for a conference and Ella's came highly recommended from a friend of mine from San Diego. Well he was so right. Several people in our party had the seared scallops and raved about them. I had the heirloom tomato salad and it was excellent! Our server... More

We were visiting Sacramento and friends suggests the farm to fork fixed price offering. It was a wonderful experience. Ella's is beautifully decorated. For as large as it is, the acoustic are pretty good. The 5 of us could talk without screaming. The heirloom tomato appetizer was heavenly. The salmon was perfectly cooked with a delightful mole. Excellent and inspired... More

Had the heirloom tomato salad which was perfectly flavored with a miso aioli, sunflower seeds, and a soft cheese. he two entrees we tried were the seared scallops with bacon lardo and the salmon. My husband and I had lunch at Ella for lobster month -- yum! We shared the lobster cobb salad and had every intention of getting the lobster and shrimp roll... until we saw the heirloom blt on the menu. Had to get and share that instead. Just delicious! The other super delish thing was a "buzz free" cocktail; I had... More

We have enjoyed several happy hours at Ella's . They are so known for their excellent food, but more importantly, their house-made tonic and drinks are extraordinary. You must visit!
