Other than the wait to get served, what's not to love. You gotta try the lemon custard ice cream. We also had the egg nogg for the season. This place has been here forever and is rightly famous for it's great ice cream.

Not the best of neighborhoods but a must visit for ice cream. The banana ice cream was the best I have ever had. The chocolate chip was good. The coconut ice cream was outstanding with big pieces of coconut. They also do a 50/50 which is incredible favors of sherbet with vanilla soft ice cream. So yummy!

My daughter had heard about Gunthers and we set off to find it one weekend evening. The queue was quite long when we reached and the place was humming with people talking at tables. Service was at the counter and was rapid considering the number of people waiting. I ordered a kiddy cone of Rum Raisin ice cream and it... More

And it's locally owned! Don't let the area fool you! This is a family classic. If I lived down there I would take my kiddos there once a week for a lil treat . It can get busy though!

We went out of our way to try Gunther's ice cream in a 100 degree day. The line was out the door and moved very slowly but we persisted & were able to get a table in the shade outside. Their product is very good. I would not say outstanding, but very good. Definitely a cute 50s style shop.

3 of us shared a banana split. Just right and not too much guilt. Even if there was any it would be worth it. The ingredients are top quality. Hardest part is narrowing down the flavors. We were lucky and it wasn't too very hot to sit outdoors. The line at first was intimidating, but it moved efficiently. Super good!!

We stopped by for the first time on a 90+ degree day. We hit the place right before the rush around 1:00 p.m. It has quality ice cream and has that old school ice cream shop feeling. You can sit inside or out depending on their capacity and outdoor temps. BE WARNED THEY DO NOT HAVE A PUBLIC RESTROOM. The... More

The sign alone is worth coming for. This place has been here for years, and they make all of their ice cream on site. On hot summer nights lines are out the door and beyond, but it's worth the wait. Quite a large and diverse following. And if you want you can drop in across the street for a burger... More

Started going to Gunther's when I was a kid. Let's just say it was in the 60's. Have always thought of this place as a "back to the roots" kind of place. Ice cream has always been good. As a kid I always loved the black raspberry in a sugar cone. I hope they never change. Funny I never took... More

I thought I was lucky to have grown up in a country where all of the ice cream cafes were operated by Italians who made the absolute best ice cream. I couldn't eat the stuff in cartons at drug stores or grocery stores. I found Gunther's by accident as I drove by one evening and wondered why all the people... More
