Recently took friends here for a special dinner. Our guests both had fish dishes, cooked as requested (kudos to the kitchen for listening, and our waiter for asking in the first place). The duck was perfectly cooked as well. Had a difficult time deciding on main courses since every entree sounded so good. Dessert was equally noteworthy. Style is French... More

I had my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner here. WE were a large group and the servers and management were great. They couldn't do enough for us. The dinner was served "family style". There was more food than everyone could possible eat. The pasta was perfectly done and spiced. The fish was perfect, cooked through, moist and very tasty. The meat... More

We booked a table for two to celebrate our 14th anniversary on a Friday night. It was our second time to the restaurant, the first was a great evening with friends so we were looking forward to a special night. They did not disappoint. While waiting in the very small bar area for our table, Patrick came by with a... More

Probably my new favorite restaurant in Sacramento. Every entree has been perfectly done, and served with great care. The only negative, not worth a star hit, is the main dining room can be noisy. We try to get seated in one of the private rooms.

The food was good but not great. It is hard to make a recommendation about a specific dish as the menu changes. The mozzarella cheese was outstanding as were the pork chops and the tuna. The rib eye steak was so so and not very hot. The service was very good. The wine list is a little pricey but the... More

Very quaint restaurant with interesting and tasty food. Excellent wine selection and the patio is beautiful with plenty of seating and greenery.

My favorite restaurant to take the wife for special occasions. We can eat their homemade bread and sea salt butter all day. There hasn't been a dish that we didn't like at Mulvaney's from the appetizers to main dishes to desserts. I tend to gravitate towards their soups and pork chop dishes. I attended a catering service at their event... More

The inventive menu and professional service here were impressive. We tried the corn chowder (thinner than we expected but savory) and smoked trout appetizers. The duck ravioli was excellent; we thought the bacon/tomato pasta needed a bit more sauce and substance. Our friends had the smoked pork chops--flavorful and substantial but slightly dry. The lemon "brownie" (more like short bread)... More

The setting is a 19th century firehouse a cosy dinning room with an outdoor patio. We were a group so lots of plates to share. The highlight appetizers are the smoked salmon, heirloom tomatoes and sweetbread with chanterelles. I ordered the "Guinea Hen Two Ways" that was perfectly cooked served with squash and polenta - delicious! The rib eye, scallops... More

I booked a private room at Mulvaney's for a business dinner and it was a great choice. We had a room for 8 in the back of the restaurant which albeit, we needed to walk through the kitchen to get to - but the service was outstanding. I also didn't need to pay a booking fee or have a food... More
