Great food and service

This is a restaurant that has a limited menu that changes each day based on available ingredients. I found this a great way to try new things based on the season. Service, drinks and wine list all very nice.

I took my mother to Mulvaney's for her birthday, and asked upon entering if they could bring a dessert for her at the end. The "smile" in Mr. Mulvaney's quote on the restaurant's site was nowhere to be found. Everyone working in the restaurant was so indifferent. Sure, that could be misinterpreted, and thus overlooked, if other aspects stood out... More

good food and good service. The review/signature book that comes with the check is a lot of fun. The Duck was excellent and the desserts were great. Nondescript location, but nicely decorated on the inside.

First off, this place is hard to find. No real signs that tell you the location of the restaurant, just one on the actual door which is semi-hidden behind some potted trees, so that was frustrating. We had about 12 in our group and we were seated right away since we had a reservation. Our server was not the friendliest.... More

Housed in a fire station at 1215 - 19th st. It does not have an outdoor sign, because it is an historic building, we had to call from the street to find the door. Classy, nice service, pork tenderloins with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes were nice.

Visited here late in the evening, but service and food quality were still very good. The menu is varied and food nicely presented. Every selection made at our table was good --- some a bit less than expected given the menu descriptions (particularly the salads) --- but overall, the restaurant delivered a solid experience.

To be fair, we had a large group of 12. We were celebrating a brithday. We were trying to make this a special night. I have been here for lunch several times, but this was my first experience at night. The term night and day really applies here; in the day, the restaurant is busy, but not too busy. The... More

loved the rib eye! It was cooked to perfection and the pesto sauce was delicious but did not overpower it let the wonderfulness of the steak come thru. It was served with sauted greens and roasted potatoes--totally yummy! With a glass of cab--yum! And of course I gave in to the delicious ding dong! Would totally go back when in... More

From trying to find it (it's the big RED building with no sign and pay the $8 for valet across the street or good luck with parking) to enjoying the many flavors.. this is a true Sacramento gem. It's farm to table fresh so there is always something new and unexpected. Our waitress was amazing, attentive but not intrusive and... More

My husband and I took our son and daughter-in-law here for her birthday. I was delighted to see the foie gras on the menu. It surpassed my expectations and was heavenly. The house-smoked salmon and cheese plate were excellent. My daughter-in-law had the duck breast, my son the double cut pork chop, my husband had the sweetbreads and the fettuccine... More
