The inventive menu and professional service here were impressive. We tried the corn chowder (thinner than we expected but savory) and smoked trout appetizers. The duck ravioli was excellent; we thought the bacon/tomato pasta needed a bit more sauce and substance. Our friends had the smoked pork chops--flavorful and substantial but slightly dry. The lemon "brownie" (more like short bread)... More

The setting is a 19th century firehouse a cosy dinning room with an outdoor patio. We were a group so lots of plates to share. The highlight appetizers are the smoked salmon, heirloom tomatoes and sweetbread with chanterelles. I ordered the "Guinea Hen Two Ways" that was perfectly cooked served with squash and polenta - delicious! The rib eye, scallops... More

I booked a private room at Mulvaney's for a business dinner and it was a great choice. We had a room for 8 in the back of the restaurant which albeit, we needed to walk through the kitchen to get to - but the service was outstanding. I also didn't need to pay a booking fee or have a food... More

Sacramento is so casual and this high class restaurant fits in perfectly by combining comfort with top quality food. The dining room is intimate but is serious for people who are interested in food. The wait staff is attentive, educated, and eager to please. We had the salmon with brown bread. It was spectacular. Then we shared the duck breast... More

The atmosphere feels warm and comfortable and the service was attentive considering the restaurant was completely full. Four of us had lunch and all the food was enjoyed. It was quite good yet it could have been a little more exciting. A sprinkling of few more interesting ingredients in the Del Rio salad, a nice little sauce to go with... More

Went back this year for my birthday. Had another amazing dinner. Everything was so wonderful; cooked perfectly; and seasoned perfectly. All of the staff were friendly, attentive, and very helpful. The specific reason I am writing this review is to comment on the chef. We were sitting at the chef's counter and able to watch some of the magic behind... More

We attended in a group setting, yet everything was perfect -- the service, the appetizers, the salad, the entrees (there were 3 choices but everyone got a huge portion of each one), and the dessert. I could go on and on about the specifics of why each dish was outstanding in every aspect, but suffice to say they use the... More

As for service, food and atmosphere, this restaurant will top your list. Mulvaneys Restaurant is the epitome of quality cuisine; it is absolutely 5 star!!! The presentation of the food was excellent; I ordered the pork chop dinner...one of the best I have had without question. The restaurant is converted from an ild fire station; this offered a very unique... More

Let's start with the service. Fantastic. It was our anniversary and they really made us feel special. It seems like every employee we encountered offered us a "happy anniversary". Special custom menus, writing on our dessert plate, they really went all out. But the real service itself was great. Our water pitcher was full and whisked away and replaced when... More
