good food, slow service

Great tacos, either fish tacos or build your own. A fairly upscale Mexican food place, inside was so noisy though, that we requested to sit outside so we could talk. Seriously, mexican food? This is the worst restaurant I've been to in Sacramento. Who the hell gives a massive basket of chips and a thimble of salsa and bean dip? The menu is terrible, the food is terrible and the staff is rude. I get why my boss likes them so much but seriously this place is terrible plain and... More

We waited about 45 minutes on a Friday for a table for three. We could have waited in the bar and nursed a margarita with chips and salsa. We went for a walk and awaited our text and looked at victorian homes. The food was very good. The chips and salsa are delicious. I especially liked the milder salsa. We... More

Had a cup of tortilla soup, what a terrible mistake, thank goodness they have good chips and salsa, otherwise I would had left hungry. The soup was salty and thick with beans and pieces of chicken. True tortilla soup does not have so many ingredients.

Zocalo is located in a 1920’s building, great ambiance inside and out on the patio enhanced by decor and trees with white lights. Fantastic, flavorful, high quality food! Tried two dishes - the Carnitas (the best we have ever had) with cinnamon, clove, jalapenos and an avocado relish; and the unexpected Salmon dish in a Oaxacan mole Amarillo that had... More

Im not a Mexican food fanatic, but this place took me by surprise. I found out about it, from my masseuse while getting a massage. When she found out I was latin she was telling me about a great latin place she went to and spoke to me about Zocalo. I told her I would try it since I was... More

Been here several times, mostly for brunch. They have a great selection of both Mexican and American dishes and my favorite is their French toast which is neither soggy or too dry. My wife typically gets their fresh shrimp tacos which are available even though not on that menu. The best part is that instead of the typical complimentary chips... More

My husband and I stopped in for happy hour while visiting family over the holidays and were pleasantly surprised at this warm, vibrant, fun place! We were given chips, salsa, and warm bean dip while we waited for our drinks and food. I was cold from the wine bar we'd just left next door and our lovely server brought me... More

Just wanted a simple meal. A little upscale for that. Menu is very limited, if I remember correctly, only three choices of enchiladas, sic choices for tacos, and about four or five other choices for dinner. I was driving so didn't wanna any alcohol and asked for aguas frescas and they don't have any, Horchata? nope again. We ordered guacamole... More

Located in midtown. The restaurant is in the old dealership location. I have came in for lunch a few times. Decor is more on the fancy side as well as the portions. Staff has been mostly in tune with seating, order taking, follow up and check settlement. Chips and salsa are provided with varying degrees of spice. Plates and dishes... More
