Awesome dining experience but overpriced

My husband and I wanted to go to this restaurant for a long time. The atmosphere was great, friendly staff, great food...and you can ask for seconds! Research drinking options before going..."house" flight or "premium" flight, additional $85-$135each, corkage is $50. Most economical is not to... read more

To celebrate my wife's birthday and based upon a slew of favorable reviews we booked reservations at The Kitchen. The stated price was $175 per person. We arrived at the designated 6:30 pm time and along with 48 others were seated and served a glass of champagne. Then Chavez the Chef, master of the big top, made his "Welcome to... More

We have visited a number of times. Years ago the experience was wow but now clearly it is slumping. Last year was so so but the breakout to the food stations was a highlight. We put that down to a once of problem. This year there was very little to recommend. Portions are extremely small so that you are still... More

I cannot understand how this is named the #1 restaurant in Sacramento. I live in Roseville and can name at least 5 places that have better tasting food. That said, the experience is definitely worth going once. The place was completely unpretentious (which surprised me) and the staff from the executive chef to the sommelier to the bus people were... Great food, Great service, great fun. Every once and blue moon you have to spring for something you won't get anywhere else. This is a 3.5 hour dinning experience. The service is 5 star the food is really great and if you are still hungry you can have seconds of anything. They have a set menu that changes (I think... More

I have been to The Kitchen many times. It's a unique dining experience that puts you in the kitchen with all the talented staff. There is only one seating per night and usually has about 50 guests. Along with a 5 star dining experience, you are entertained as they describe the 6 to 10 course dinner. The food is EXCELLENT... More

The Kitchen is an experience unique from all others! All meals are 1 seating and the meal takes the better part of 3 hours+. You watch as chef prepares and walks you through each item on the menu (from the place of origin to how it is prepared). No choices to pick from, everyone gets the same meal and if... More

Randall Selland is a show in an of himself and then add scumptious food and you've got a memorable evening to remember! There's a large selection of dishes and they will accommodate "picky" palates. I was able to get 2nd's on one dish because I wasn't a fish fan, etc. So, you truly get a unique experience that ensures that... More

I was treated for my birthday. The food was wonderful. The chef even made me a special dessert since I have allergies and could not eat what they were serving. Lots of choices, and unlimited food. The only downside was the cost of additional wine. Way too expensive. Tip: BYOB and pay the corkage fee!

The Kitchen is the epitome of fine dining and fun. Each dish is prepared in front of a small audience of diners who are regaled with stories of the chef and his partners. The master chef also has a penchant for humor and breaks it out often. Not only do you get a healthy dose of comedy, but you are... More
