Just had the most excellent lunch with my Aunt. We had the spinach salmon salad with caramelized onions and warm bacon dressing. I had l nice glass of Pinot Grigio from Italy and of course their famous banana cream pie. Prices are more reasonable than I remember and service excellent.

Visiting friends in Sacramento who brought my husband and I to this lovely, intimate restaurant. We started with a green salad accompanied by the house foccacia with oil and balsamic vinegar. Yum. I honestly did not notice what anyone else ordered. But all the plates were clean when we were done. I had the risotto with grilled scallops. Wow! The... More

this place was described as a neighborhood eatery, and if this is typical food for this neighborhood then I want to move here! It sits close to the road, at an intersection, but it is a little tricky to get in to the parking lot (you have to go around the block through a neighborhood). It shares a building and... More

Oh yes, scallopine and other expected entrees, Spaghetti, minestrone, all very good, but with their own italian touch Near a busy street but the traffic sound is completely blocked out, but inside the bar is too noisy. Interesting wine racks. Service friendly and prompt

Good food, good service! Nice little restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner. I have been there for both, several times, as well as for appetizers. They have a nice wine selection and a small bar. For lunch I have had their Eggplant Ptarmigan sandwich which was delicious as well as their Salmon, BLT sandwich and would recommend both!... More

An early Sunday night dinner at this local bistro proved to be wonderful. We enjoyed the tomato soup, meat lasagne, and Italian fried chicken. All were delicious. Attentive service impressed us without being annoying. We've been meaning to dine here for years, and we will return for the pizza soon. Danielle's next door is great for brunch.

My wife and I found the service and food to be among the best we've experienced in Sacramento. It's not Biba's, but a lot closer than you might think. The server was patient and knowledgable but just enough of a showman as to not be annoying or intrusive. Our meals were superb and prepared with care and precision. I only... More

We ordered the risotto cakes and they were fabulous, highly recommend them! The pesto sauce on my pasta was fabulous. My only problem, we asked to sit outside. We did not have good service out there. Eat inside. We had to ask for silverware, waited a long time for dessert, I had to go inside and get the salt and... More

Cafe Vinoteca is a locally owned bistro with the best veal scallopini we have found. The bistro is a neighborhood gem. Oh, for those who like Old Fashioned's, their bartender muddles the best Maker's Mark Old Fashioned in town.
