Passing through Sacramento, I'm told about this place for quality smoked prime rib and I have to try it. When I pulled up outside, my expectations dropped somewhat (maybe because it was dark and I don't know the area) but I went on. Inside we were greeted with a warm smile from a young lady who seated and served us... More

The food was better than elected. The place is. Complete dump in a terrible area, but don't let that care you away. The food is more upscale than anticipated, and was very well prepared. Corned beef and cabbage was perfect. Fried chicken was huge, crisp, delicious, and with a heaping pile of awesome mashed potatoes. Halibut special was very nicely... More

It may have been one of those perfect storms of being hungry, beating a small crowd to dinner, and knowing what to order, but we were thoroughly pleased with our dinner at Jamie's. We were staying in West Sac, at one of those cheap caltrans and trucker motels next to 5 or 205, or whatever, planning on lingering around Old... More

Just returned from a lunch with the co-workers and although my House Salad with Grilled Chicken was really good, there were several issues. One of my co-workers asked for a side of Ranch Dressing and our waitress mentioned that there would be a slight charge. When asked what the charge would be, we were told $2.00. Well she didn't want... More

The prime rib is great!! It has a excellent smoky flavor you can taste in every bite. They have rather simple menu with a list of specials on the board. Suggest you arrive early to ensure you get the meal you want- they do run out at times.

went to Jamie's because of the review and have to say we were overall disappointed. Its not that the food is bad, its just not great. I have to say the french fries, calamari and clam chowder were very good, we did not try their famous prime rib, so can not speak to that. I think Jamie's is a little... More

This is the same place as Jamie's Broadway Grill, which was mistakenly listed on Tripadvisor as being located at 500 Broadway.

Jamie's is, and has always been a 'dive'. The building is old, dark, dirty, and very noisy when it gets busy. That's part of the ambiance, but the food is the main attraction and what they serve is sensational! If you go...try to be there by 11:15 am or so, because as of 11:30, you WILL be waiting in line... Been coming here a few years now usually for lunch. Two things I always have: the garlic steak sandwiches and the hearty open face turkey sandwiches with mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. The steak sandwich is far superior to the local legend known as Club Pheasant. The preparation is spot on but the only problem is that it's too big.... More
