The food here is phenomenal and so are the bartenders--where I've always eaten. The bar is small and the fact that there is rarely a seat open is a testament to both the fantastic food and the personalities there. The owner/chef frequently pops out from the kitchen giving it that personal touch--the prices are in line with other similar restaurants... More

We have had several dinners at Waterboy over the last year and have tried so many of their menu choices. Each has been an incredible culinary experience.....delicious and as seasons evolve, so do the dishes. Would highly recommend you experience this wonderful restaurant!

We had dinner at The Waterboy while in town for 3 nights and I am glad we followed the good ratings here at TA. The restaurant is conveniently located in midtown Sacramento on Capitol Avenue. Food and service was outstanding. We had 3 different appetizers, entrees and deserts and everyone in out group agreed that it was excellent. I also... More

This is a very popular place. We made reservations for lunch, and ordered mahi mahi. It was the special for the day, and came with a small portion of mashed potato, capers, caramelized onion, bacon, and a few kernels of corn. The whole dish was drenched in a buttery sauce. It was very tasty, but maybe not too healthful. The... More

Dinner with wife and son visiting from DC. Had an early dinner as my son was still adjusting to the time change; EDT to PDT. Started with drinks. Son had a Primm cup and I had my usual, Kettle One on the rocks. Ordered the deviled egg appetizer; it was delicious. Wife had the beet salad. Son ordered the gazpacho... More

The Waterboy is one of the very best restaurants in Sacramento. It has a fabulous seasonal French menu which is constantly being refreshed as the chefs come up with new ideas. Every course is excellent. They take reservations, which are a good idea, as it's a relatively small location and can get very busy on the weekend.

This place was recommended to me by a local. Glad I listened. Service, food and atmosphere all A+. Had the tartar, deviled eggs, duck, sweet corn and lobster soup. But what really stole the show is the bouillabaisse. Delicious!!!

A foodies paradiase. I create special occassions for excuses to dine here. Over the years, and hundreds of servings, I can't recall being disappointed. The prices, portions and quality compare favorably with simular institutions in major metropolitan areas. Their classic Ceasar Salad is always spot on. The Sweetbreads are the best. I can't pass up their salads with beets. Their... More

Nice restaurant in downtown Sacramento. Same location for 20 years. I started with Tuna Tartar, the had the Veal Sweetbreads which were as good as I have had anywhere in the world. My main course was the bouillabaisse which was small buy very tasty, followed by a dessert of affagoto which is home made vanilla ice cream covered with espresso... More
