Had a really good meal here. Only negative would be the space is pretty cramped and the tables are too close to each other. Would recommend the following: - Crostini Tonnato - Antipasto Plate - Salad of Riverdog Beets, Avocado & Tombo Tuna - Waterboy Bouillabaisse

Expect the best in any of their entree. Choice in any of their menu of pasta, poultry, seafood and beef. Food well prepared with fresh ingredients. Great wine selection. Must leave enough room for dessert.

Busy place deserves the attention by serving delicious fare. Servers knew their game, libations were generous and forthcoming. Noisy atmosphere from the buzz of excitement being had by happy diners. Eclectic crowd.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Sacramento. Rick Mahan, the owner, produces wonderful meals. We particularly like the occasional prixe fixe dinners, but his take on Jacques Pepin last night left us disappointed. The appetizer was very good. The trout almondine was superb. The soup was, well, OK, but not that good. A little 'mushy'. The bouef bourguigon... More

My Sacramento hosts invited me there for dinner a Saturday evening. We all had tartar salmon and six small oysters w/ mignonette as hors-d’oeuvre, then pasta with rabbit as a main dish, and I finished with a delicious crostada (or crumble) for dessert. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Basically, you come here to share great food with friends. I had the seared scallops which were great and there is a good choice of wine by the glass. The staff were attentive and the chef was obviously on top form. Even on a Monday night, the restaurant was buzzing. But don't expect a pretentious Gordon Ramsay style of up-market... More

A friend from Sacramento took me to The Waterboy and the food was fantastic. The flavors were interesting and they did a good job putting things together just right. I Fall Minestrone was really amazing and I had a bit of my friend's dessert: pumpkin spice pot de crème - fantastic. Definitely give it a try.

On the recommendation of a friend I made may way across town while I was in Sacramento on business to The Waterboy for lunch and was not disappointed. Several interesting menu choices, I selected the rockfish, which was delicious and enjoyed an excellent cafe latte. Wish I could have returned to sample some more of their menu....and will make a...
