Where's the fish?

The best thing I can say is the restaurant has a view of the Sacramento River. The service is slow (25 minutes to get our food) I had fish tacos which were cold, tiny pieces of fish (lost in coleslaw) with stale corn chips. The French fries were greasy...again good view but Joe needs to make a... read more

I love going to Joe's for shrimp, fish & chips. Great food, great service. Only problem is getting in. During the week you will have a better chance getting in. Weekends getting in is nearly impossible. You have the tourist crowd on the weekends. If you aren't patient not the place to go unless you go during off hours. Great... More

We take our visiting family here every time per their request as we have had such fun times at this restaurant! The music is fun & the servers work to make sure families have a good time. They regularly perform group line dance routines to entertain the diners. The food is good and plentiful here. It's not outstanding but I... More

We've eaten at various Joe's Crab Shacks in Southern California, so we knew what to expect in terms of menu and decor. The Sacramento restaurant is a bit smaller than the So Calif ones. Menu is what we expected, although it seemed like their prices were a bit steeper than we remember at other locations. We were all very hungry,... More

For the uninitiated, Joe's is a loud, boisterous joint where the wait staff dance, yell, and organize humiliation for birthday celebrants. (My birthday get-up was a child's plastic armor set; but another poor woman had a feathered chicken head-piece, and had two cone-shaped water cups clenched in her teeth to represent a beak. She looked less than enthused.) The food... More

I out of pure silliness have given this place way too many chances. Food is fair at best. Service poor. My name was skipped over while waiting to be seated. Noticed several groups that arrived after my group being seated. Joe's Crab Shack fix? Put my n add me at the BOTTOM of the list. So done going here.

My husband and I went to dinner for a special occasion and had one of the worst experiences ever. Our entire meal was delayed from start to finish and overall we waited over 1 hour and 40 minutes from getting our appetizer, to getting our meal. Other tables around us got their food before us and we complained but got... More

We go to dinner for birthdays and just get away Sundays. Thier portions size shrunk for the price, but we still have a great meal and drinks.

It is a good place for crack your own crabs or eat other sea foods. It is a place to eat overlooking the Sacramento River, but it may be a longer wait for the porch seating. In the summer when the River Cats (AAA Giants) team are home they have fireworks on the weekends after the game. The porch is... More

We ate here for under $50 and were stuffed and even took food home! We ordered the variety bucket for two and it was full of crap legs, shrimp, potatoes, corn, sausage and it was all absolutely delish! You will not be disappointed. Expect a wait. Ours was 1 1/2 hours but so worth it. We got a table right... More
