Our party of eight walked four blocks to Lucca after attending a Sunday matinee at the Music Circus. Good thing we had made reservations as every table -- inside and outside -- was filled by 6 o'clock. The "California Mediterranean" menu provides an extensive choice of Italian entrees. Each of us ordered a different entree and we all were pleased... More

the service in the restaurant was some of the best in my travels. The food was just OK...i had ordered gnocchi...pretty sure gnocchi wasn't homemade, my wife ordered stuffed peppers...which were good....fried zucchini to start was flavorless and really lacked presentation. Dessert was great with a salted toffee dessert

Went with three work colleagues and absolutely loved it. I had their ricotta gnocchi (ie not potato) which was very light and fluffy and an interesting mix of gnocchi and pasta texture. The ribs that two of my friends had were amazing. As was the Chicken Saltimbocca. No complaints. All great!

Lucca Restaurant & Bar has been part of the downtown restaurant scene for so long it's easy to overlook in favor of some of the newer, trendy eateries...but don't! It's a casual yet classy restaurant with a full bar and Mediterranean-Italian fare. It's perfect for a date, but arrive early Thursdays to grab a seat at the bar for the... More

Mark your calendars, then make your reservations: Third Sunday of the month is Lucca Movie Night. What you get: a three course themed dinner that draws its inspiration from the great cult classics like Goodfellas and Office Space. What you pay: $25.00 Can't beat it. Personalized service throughout the show - all very unobtrusive. Alcoholic beverages are not included. The... More

One of the best places to eat in Mid-town Sacramento. Come early for Happy Hour before your dinner reservation. Parmesan Fries & Parmesan and Ricotta Salata Flatbread are great starters. Partial to Wild Arugula Salad and the Roasted Beets salad choices. Favorite main dishes are the Ricotta Gnocchi Bolognese (delicious!), Pappardelle, and the Spicy Penne. Really can't go wrong with... I can always count on Lucca to deliver a quality meal. I have been going here for years, and yes, sometimes they can get a little overwhelmed with the crowds, but their food never disappoints. Sunday was no exception. Our brunch experience was a first. (I am a die hard happy hour and dinner patron) The Bloody Mary was on... More

Risotto was good but not excellent. Our service was good, nice wine list, medium prices. The look of the place (in the rear seating area) was very pleasant.

Hubby had been here and raved about it, so we tried it recently on a week night. Three stars not for the quality of the food, but for the service. The waiter was OMG loud and he was trying so hard it was annoying. We had our big boy pants on that night and we can read and write and... More
