I ordered the salmon with a side dish and vegetables and salad. It was a healthy meal, and I had enough salmon for another meal! The view is great- right on the river!!

We ate at the Virgin Sturgeon on a Monday evening; it was busy at the dinner hour but not too crowded. The onion soup and the dinner salad were very good and enjoyed by both of the diners. The red snapper and mac and cheese (both selections for that evening) were average. We wouldn't go there again, particularly at that... More

Locals place kind of a hole in the wall. First look at menu and wasn't much that interested me. I ordered shrimp cocktail and cuban salad. Got to say majpr surprise. Shrimp cocktail was fine. The cuban salad managed to blow my socks OFF. It was great. Their salad dressing was uber spicy, just up my alley. I usually take... More

The Virgin Sturgeon is a funky floating restaurant located north of Sacramento on the Sacramento River. (You access the restaurant using the Garden Highway off I-5.) The Virgin is an iconic VERY casual dining institution, visited both by boaters who tie up at the adjacent dock and by diners who park on the Garden Highway and descend the steep ramp... More

It's a bit of a walk down the airplane gangway (even harder uphill after a few) but well worth it. The view of the Sac River is great as it's a floating restaurant. It's a fun place to hang out and have a few beers. The food is decent but I would consider it a bar with food. I really... More

I've seen other reviews that slam the place assorted complaints, but I guess the reviewers are not familiar with boat places. Yes the airline loading ramp slopes. It is going down to the river for God's sake. There are signs indicating that all over the place. The food is very good but not spectacular, lots of fish options Simply prepared,... More

Floating on the Sacramento River, this restaurant offers some good views and pretty good seafood at reasonable prices. Nothing fancy here as boats pull up, dock and folks come aboard. Wood tables and chairs with a modest food and wine menu. But the seafood is fresh with simple preparations. I have enjoyed their crab cakes (which is an appetizer but... More

The service was slow and the food was average at best. The view however is great, sunset on the river has got to be seen. Plus eating on a river boat is cool to.

Stopped here to have breakfast in early Sept. Gorgeous setting on the river with outside dock/deck seating and inside. Service was good but it did not start until about 10am. Food was good and plenty with reasonable prices. Coffee rich and perfect! Great place to dine on the river sorta on the way to the airport or back from it.

We had dinner at the Virgin Sturgeon for the first time in many years. The location on the water can't be best; although the hike through the airplane ramp is an e-ride. The decor is really funky and untouched over the many years since I was here last. The view outside made up for the quaint ambiance inside. The surprise... More
