Nice meal, Good Service!

We had been wanting to try this place for quite a while. Dinner was well prepared and served promptly. Nice wait staff and very attentive. Fair size portions with reasonable prices. We had been wanting to try this place for quite a while. Dinner was well prepared and served promptly. Nice wait staff and very attentive. Fair size portions with reasonable prices. When we arrived early in the evening, there was very strong fish odor throughout the restaurant. If we didn't have outdoor seating, we probably would not have stayed. I... More

The portions are big, the beans were very good. The restaurant is convenient to downtown. The atmosphere was welcoming.

My group decided to try Esquire Grill on a Monday evening. Two of us had never been there. We brought a bottle of wine with us and purchased one from the restaurant. The server was friendly and very attentive but tried to charge a corkage fee for the wine we brought. We asked for her supervisor who confirmed that the... More

While in Sacramento, visit this grill, a couple of blocks from the capital, for a menu of fresh choices that showcase what's growing in the region. We chose the chicken, seafood and salad offerings and weren't disappointed. Great presentation and delicious. Wait-staff was personable, quick and remembered every detail. We enjoy sampling local brews and they had a nice selection... More

Seating both inside and outside. Hi-end menu. Dined with co-worker. My only time there, so I can't judge the full menu. Our appetizers and entrees were very good and appropriately sized. The only thing that stunned both of us was how few people were in there, even though it was a Thursday night.

The food was good, we had the fresh fish, with salad first. But to charge for bread at the table is not the norm in Sacramento.

Our waiter seemed to know his stuff with regard to wine - but that was only interesting to one in our party. The rest of us were fine with the house offerings which were good. The juicy hamburger was cooked to order and split in the kitchen (two shared); Ahi poke appetizer for the "not so hungry" friend, was served... More

My wife and I had dinner at Esquire Grill during a working trip to Sacramento this week. We opted to sit at the bar and watch the end of the SF Giants game, and were very glad we did. The bartender was amazingly accommodating, letting my wife sample several red wines before making her selection (I had a martini made... More

This is a great downton location by the conference center and Sheraton Grand. They were very accomadating to our large group and worked fast to get us all seated. Service was great and the food was delicious. I love the farm to table stance Sacramento resturants have taken. You could truly tell the difference.
