The Esquire Grill continues to be an absolute stop on any trip to Sacramento, especially for the oysters!

We were very well looked after and they inquired whether we need to leave early for a show. Surroundings relaxing and comfortable.

I went to the Esquire Grill in Sacramento today for lunch. We were seated immediately (12:15) took until 12:40 to get water and waited until 1:10 to have a server come by and take our order, in fact he went to another table first to take their order (they came after we did) and only came to our table after... We often go here after our matinee shows at the Community Center but never again. The food has consistently gone downhill. Our waiter yesterday was very impersonal and we couldn't find him to ask for what we needed. He never once came and asked how our meal was or I would have told him how horrible it was. A restaurant... More

After a daylong conference at the Sheraton Grand right around the corner, the hotel staff recommended the Esquire as a good off-property option. Our group of six agreed that the food was decent but unimpressive. Two of us had the tuna burgers, which were thin and appeared not to be freshly made, and were served on a supermarket-quality sesame seed... More

How often does a meal linger in you memory?... such is the case on New Year's Eve 2013 at the Esquire Grill. We made an early seating reservation to accommodate theater tickets. With a warm greeting, the General Manager took us to our table. As we were settling in, he informed us of the specials for the evening. We ordered... More

Filet mignon was the best steak I have ever had, and my colleague from Italy said the exact same thing. We eat at this restaurant at least once, every time we are at Unified Wine & Grape Symposium. I wish I remembered our waiters name, because he was just great. The manager came by the table and asked why we... More

Filet mignon was excellent, dinner salad was great. Dessert was the BEST banana cream pie I've ever had -- fresh sliced bananas and fresh custard on an excellent crust with newly whipped cream. All fresh and delicious!

Our new favorite restaurant. GREAT STAFF, SERVICE IS THE BEST! We were there on New Years Eve celebrating a birthday as well and could not have asked for a better way to start the New Year. Started with drinks at the bar and moved onto dinner. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food outstanding, the service the best. Between the appetizers... More
