Our waiter seemed to know his stuff with regard to wine - but that was only interesting to one in our party. The rest of us were fine with the house offerings which were good. The food was good, we had the fresh fish, with salad first. But to charge for bread at the table is not the norm in Sacramento.

My wife and I had dinner at Esquire Grill during a working trip to Sacramento this week. We opted to sit at the bar and watch the end of the SF Giants game, and were very glad we did. The bartender was amazingly accommodating, letting my wife sample several red wines before making her selection (I had a martini made... More

This is a great downton location by the conference center and Sheraton Grand. They were very accomadating to our large group and worked fast to get us all seated. Service was great and the food was delicious. I love the farm to table stance Sacramento resturants have taken. You could truly tell the difference.

Went out with two other couples to celebrate a belated birthday for our friend. We started with drinks; wine for one, Kettle One on the rocks for me and two ladies had tea. We were served by Julie. For appetizers ordered the ahi poke and pork belly. They enjoyed the apps. After two ordered salads and I had the New... More

Our flight was delayed for 3 hours, so we went for lunch. I have to say we weren't in the best of humor, but David the bartender soon changed that what an upbeat guy and a great mixologist. He made us a couple of cocktails and recommended the pulled pork sliders which were very good. If you have to get... More

The menu was varied and fairly priced. They specialized in grilled fish and meat, and they were excellent. We were able to sit outside which I highly recommend when the weather permits. We went there two nights in a row. I had the grilled salmon which was perfectly done, and the grilled pork chop the second visit, again perfectly done... More

My (all-adult) family took me to Esquire Grill for my birthday when I visited Sacramento last month. The ambience inside was nice but a bit loud, even on a Wednesday night. Eating on the patio would be quieter, but could be hot during the summer months (they do have misters overhead). I ordered one of the pasta dishes, and my... More

Great choice of American cuicine, but with a twist. Had the Ahi sandwich with a touch of ginger taste. Great wine selection. A wonderful lunch and excellent service.
