There are numerous restaurants in Sacramento to choose from and we tend to end up at Cafe Bernardo on a regular basis. The food is fresh, prepared well and local. I love the salmon plate and all of their salads. They also have delicious seasonal food and the service is friendly and consistently good. We will be back!

We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday on a recommendation from a local friend and we were not disappointed. We sampled soup, pizza, salmon BLT, and burger. The chef happened past our table to chat, Keith. They use all fresh ingredients and take great care to transform those into wonderful combinations. The pizza was the best we have had... More

I have eaten many meals at Cafe Bernardo and once brought my extended family when we needed a quick but delicious meal before going to graduation. Everyone was impressed as they had lowered their expectations when they realized that they had to stand on line to order. The service and the food are consistently excellent. They are one of the... After spending two hours at nearby Sutter's Fort State Historic Park (highly recommended), we were looking for a nearby lunch spot. Luckily, we found Bernardo. It seemed that all menu items had a slight twist on the regular fare, which was most welcome. I had the Niman Ranch Angus Burger, which was tender and juicy without being sloppy. It came... More

I always enjoy my lunches at Cafe Bernardo in Midtown Sacramento. Their menu is perfect for people who want to eat healthfully, but still enjoy delicious food. Yes, you have to stand in line to order, but the servers bring your food to you with a smile, refill your drinks promptly, and take good care of you once you're seated.... More

This is a nice brasserie style restaurant that offers simple but plentiful dishes. I had a wholesome garlic and bean soup followed by a salmon salad. My husband had steak. It was very good food with attentive service at a reasonable price. I would go again and recommend it to others.

I ordered a salmon sandwich for lunch, which came in a timely manner. They cooks had properly cooked the salmon, however the amount of bread overwhelmed the salmon fillet inside. Overall good flavor and service. The presentation needed a little work though.

Went for "brunch" - but ended up having eggs Bernardo (their Benedict) - Yum! Eggs cooked nicely, with rustic home fried potatoes with onion and pepper - the sauce was good too, but what set it apart was that it was served on fresh rosemary bread - a very nice layer of flavor added to classic dish. My friend asked... More
