This restaurant has it all: delicious food, great drinks, in a terrific location on the Sacramento River, and attentive and friendly servers.

We ate outside and enjoyed the crab cakes, swordfish, and ahi tuna. Prices were not horrific, considering the riverfront/Old Sacramento location, but it is best suited for couples and groups of adults. Service was attentive and the experience was a pleasant one overall.

We were here for lunch seated outdoors with a view of the Gold Bridge in wonderful N. CA weather. They are known for a Kobe beef mix hamburger. Of course, it must be cooked to medium or well. The rosemary fries are crisp and hot and delicious. A salad with red and yellow beets was refreshing and different. I was... More

Sacramento needs more decks over the water like this place. It's so great to sit on the deck and watch the boats go by and the bridge raise up for the sailboats. Glass of wine. Summer breeze. But I must admit, when it gets up to the 90s it's a bit too warm. Solid menu. I enjoy their appetizers for... More

There are lots of places to eat in Old Town and this is one of the better ones for sure. It can get pretty busy, even a little too crowded but the food and view make this one of your best choice's in Old Town Sac!

The wait staff knows their stuff and you can't beat the view. But if you're looking for eggs or pancakes for brunch, this isn't the place. They don't even toast bread! Your get delicious sour dough rolls, but it just doesn't fit.

Too many of the eateries in Old Sacramento seemed geared to beer drinking or families with children. A docent at the Sacramento history museum recommended Rio City Cafe. We were directed to a table outside in the sun and it seemed stuffy. We asked to move into the shade under a ceiling fan and were directed there without enthusiasm. However,... More

Great food in a great atmosphere!!! We made a reservation for 15 on a Monday night and when we arrived, our table wasn't ready so we sat at the bar for a little bit. Unfortunately, we didn't sit outside overlooking the river since it was a hot, triple digit day but the interior of the restaurant is very elegant with... More

Rio City Cafe offered a wide selection of food - two people ate ribeyes, I had the swordfish, and the fourth had the crab and shrimp louie. All of us were very happy with our choices and the quality of the food. The server was very attentive and offered suggestions which were spot on. The location of the restaurant is... More

Driving around California for 2 weeks with 2 other guys and we all agreed at the end of the trip that Rio City Cafe was our favorite, Winning on the quality of the food we had, the salads, shrimp louie and dessert. We also have to say that we had very friendly staff taking care of us and we certainly... More
