I haven't been here in almost 7 years. It used to be one of my favs; but, not after the other night. A group of colleagues and had dinner after a long day of meetings. Our server was awesome and extremely attentive. The menu is limited if you are not a seafood lover. My chicken was dry and I waft... More

Our party of four chose to sit on the patio. The day was cool and sunny. The views of the river were wonderful. Our server was friendly and reviewed many of the menu items with us. Each person selected a different offering from the menu. All were well prepared, nicely presented and delicious. The fish taco portions were large with... More

Nothing like a bottle of Geyser Peak S B watching the sun go down over the American River, it's an amazingly relaxing place to start the evening.

Never had a bad experience here - I am usually there for a late lunch or brunch - We have sampled a variety of offerings - From Eggs Benedict to Jumbalaya (my favorite) - the portions are always nice, tastes fresh - presentation is nice, and a very fair price - the bar is also great, they have real bartenders... Each of our party of three finished the meal remarking on how much they enjoyed it. We had a window table for a great view and the benefit of the AC. My Civeche was outstanding. Enough for a light lunch; add a Caesar salad for a full meal. The have ample seating so there probably won't be a wait.

After a several year absence from visiting Rio City Cafe, we decided to try it again on a beautiful Sunday in Sacramento. The restaurant was crowded, especially on the expansive outdoor seating areas, but we were seated at a table in short order at a table with a great view of the river. We opted for sharing the Ahi Nachos... More

The view was great, the service was excellent, and the food was also excellent, and prices were reasonable for that area.

While the food was good, the service was very slow. Bread is fresh baked but takes a while to get to the table. Then we waited even longer for the food. They were not very busy but maybe not enough wait staff to take care of all the diners. When the food finally arrived, the flavors were very good. The... More

Right in the hustle and bustle of Old Sacramento, is a very nice restaurant with a nice selection of what I would categorize as California Cuisine, with a pretty good selection of beers and wines or mixed drinks if you prefer. I have been here several times with family and friends, and each time has been a very pleasant experience.... More

The Rio City Cafe is not a fancy place, but it has a well-kept, casual environment by the river. The menu is small, but their options include classics and original options. My friend and I both had the spearfish over risotto with a complementary variety of subtle flavors. The portion was just right - no leftovers. The service was good.... More
