Went here since it was close by and we were hungry. First problem: asked for water with no ice. Water came with ice and a huge chunk of lettuce and some other gunk in glass. Ordered lunch portions. Very generous for the price. I had a steak tostada. Steak was tender b ut no sour cream which was requested. Came... More

I had dinner at the Vallejo's on 4th Street on Monday, October 28, 2013. I was not pleased with my dinner at all. It was not hot, the guacamole was tasteless and so was the chicken quesadilla. This is not what I remember from the Vallejo's of years ago. Vallejo's use to be the best...now, I don't think I'll go... More

If you work downtown, this place is ideal for lunch. They obviously gear their business to the State workers and downtown employees. The place is clean, neat, fast service and value for money. I had a salad and it was the perfect size portion for a lunch and tasty. The restaurant is called "Mexican", but it's not even close to... More

Erica is the Bomb. Food is ok. Sometimes seated at a sticky table. Not crazy about the tacos. Been there lots of times on Wednesday. Always excellant service from Erica.

We dined at Vallejo's earlier this week induced by a discount offer from Groupon. After living in Sacramento for over 40 years, we had never been to this restaurant. We found the service impeccable and the menu enticing with options we now know that we must return to try. The three item combination was excellent and my Carne Asada had... More

Food and service are fine. Always great service, and the food is as close to authentic as one might hope.

If you are looking for good Mexican food in Downtown, skip Ernesto's and head to Vallejo's. It has the decor of every non-chain Mexican restaurant, but the food is better than average and much better than most in Downtown.

My friend and I were both pleasantly surprised by how good everything was because there wasn't any wait at noon. The restaurant is simple in a good way. The chicken fingers I got was wonderful and the fries was friends to a perfect golden. We each paid around $5 for lunch and nothing went wrong. The waiter and the owner... More

We always enjoy coming to Vallejos. They have large portions. This time they has a mariachi band- it was fun! They are always hospitable and make you feel welcome. It is easy with kids and family. We come here every time we are in Sacramento. The chile relleno was excellent! So glad we found this place!
