Description: Paragary's Bar and Oven is widely considered one of the best restaurants...
Paragary's Bar and Oven is widely considered one of the best restaurants in the thriving Sacramento dining scene. Supporting a legacy that goes back to the early '80s, the kitchen team takes immense pride in all things food. From concept, ingredients, preparation, and presentation, to service, atmosphere and price, great measures are taken to insure excellence. The wood-burning oven provides perfectly cooked gourmet pizzas and calzones, while the kitchen turns out fresh and seasonal dishes with a Mediterranean flair. A must-see is the back patio, one of the most unique outdoor dining experiences in Sacramento.

Charming, delightful staff, nice Prix Fixe

Stopped in to try a new restaurant during Dine Downtown. Luckily had reservations because they were very busy (expected for a Friday night) and we did have to wait a little at the crowded bar. Last Saturday night my husband and I were coming back from another event when we thought -- "hey lets eat here in Sacramento" so I got on the phone and called and we were able to get in without a reservation at the last minute. I didn't think that would be possible knowing they had just remodeled and they just... More

The newly renovated Paragary's is still finding its feet . . . the new decor, hard tiles, walls, a focus on black-and-white, raises the noise to a conversation-impossible level. In the early weeks there is a happening bar scene, and the see-and-be-seen crowd are very present, but this may not be sustainable. The outdoor dining area is lovely and may... More

We can't wait for their major remodel to be completed in August, so that we can continue to enjoy food, staff, and patio...our favorite spot in Sacramento!

Paragary's used to be a four-starish restaurant with good food, decent ambiance, and relatively knowledgable service. But the decline is embarrassing (for someone who took an out-of-town party there.) I'm reluctant to click the "outdoor seating" checkbox, because, although the patio is lovely, access to it is cryptic. I called to reserve a spot on the patio for six, and... More

We visited Paragary's for their $25 Prixe Fixe dinner. The food was delightful, interesting, best of the local seasonal offerings and seafood. It was about 103 degrees outside so no one was on the patio. we started with a Kir Royale and a Blood Orange Margarita. The drinks were good but nothing outstanding. My wife loved the squid and watermelon... More

This restaurant has been a favorite for over 25 years! The food is consistently excellent with service to match. The patio is the nicest in Sacramento, off the street in an atmosphere of private, casual elegance. Love it.

On a Friday night in January, our group of 6 decided to go here for the $30 per person Dine Downtown Week menu. Two people had the mussels appetizer off the regular menu as they did't feel hungry enough for a three course meal. There was such a generous portion of mussels it was more like a main entre and... We had a nice enough experience at Paragary's last week, but that was all it was, nice. Service was on the slow side and the waiter seemed bored to be there, to say the least.

This is one of those really fine restaurants that is easy on the pocket but generous on the taste buds. Good food and good service. We always give gift certificates to Paragary's
