Over the many years I have come here for special occaision meals, I have always had excellent food and excellent service. It is my personal number 1 restaurant in Sacramento.

For the price, I feel it is overrated. Yes, Biba is well known, especially for occasion dining, but I feel there are other great choices for the money.

The current Trip Advisor blurb says it is the No. 3 most popular restaurant in Sacramento. Whatever the two listed above it, it can't be for the quality of the food or the ambiance. This is absolutely wonderful but, because it is indeed pricey, is a "special occasion" restaurant. Biba, the owner--yes, that's her name and yes, she is Italian--is... More

The two course prix fixe lunch at $20 is great value, in a beautiful well air conditioned dining room.

I have dined at Biba several times over the years. I recently returned for my daughters birthday celebration. The atmosphere, service, and food have not changed since my first visit 14 years ago. It is always consistent. I view Biba as classic Italian based on the selection of menu items, portion sizes, and quality of the food. While the portion... More

This was one of only two meals I've ever had in the United States that actually tasted like Italy--and I travel in Italy, off the beaten track, often. Excellent service, nice atmosphere, phenomenal food, great wine list. My husband had the smoked salmon appetizer with shaved farm eggs and asparagus and loved it. I had the pappa al pomodoro soup... A popular spot in Sacramento. I thought it was a little over-rated, especially price. Other places in town are better for the same price. I eat out 10-12 times per week; therefore, believe my palette is pretty recallable.

As an anniversary dinner, my wife and I went to Biba's to celebrate. What a wonderful experience! We started with the scallop appetizer which was perfectly prepared; tender and moist. My wife had the home-made ravioli which was served perfectly. I had one of the special that night; lamb prepared three different ways, chop, roast and medallions. All cooked as... More

I know people who think Biba is the best place for Italian food, or the best place for fine dining period, in Sacramento. While truly venerable, our experience generally disappoints. Décor is outdated, not that we do not appreciate old charm, but this is a let down 70's esthetic. Nothing European about it. Pleasant but not inspiring. Plenty of natural... More

You can't go wrong coming to Biba's! It's the best of everything! If you haven't been, GO! and go often--- you won't regret it. The only problem I've ever had is that I'm always too full to order dessert.
