Description: Located in the historic Old Tavern Building, just minutes from the State Capitol, Biba Caggiano, celebrated chef, cookbook author, and TV personality, brings a bit of Italy to Sacramento. Savor the flavors of Biba's award winning authentic Italian cuisine in a friendly but refined ambiance, with attentive service that will make you feel instantly welcome. Enjoy spuntini with a cocktail or glass of wine in the lounge area, kick back and listen to piano music, or order a full meal at the bar or in the dining room. Only the finest and freshest ingredients are used and the food is truly Italian...house made lasagne Bolognese on Thursday and Friday and a different stuffed pasta dish every day. Osso bucco alla Milanese (veal shanks) or stinco di agnello (lamb shanks) are just some of the entrees you may expect to find. California and Italian wines are available to complement the food. And don't skip the dessert. The Tiramisu is to die for!

Many years ago my beau brought me here for dinner to celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent, but, my beau almost choked when he received the check. He's no longer my beau.

After a long day at work I decided to go out to dinner in Sacramento and used Tripadvisor to help. Of the ones I was interested in, Biba was the highest rated restaurant so I gave them a call and got a table. Unfortunately I walked away from the experience feeling quite disappointed. The service was sporadic at best, the... More

Italian cuisine. Fresh ingredients. Excellent preparation and service. Biba, the owner, personally checks on satisfaction.

Our group of 10 went for dinner last night for a birthday celebration. The food was great, our servers were great but the manager was the most unfriendly we have ever experienced. We made a reservation and had a verbal agreement with the person taking the reservation that we would receive separate checks per couple. For that allowance we agreed... More

Very good asparagus appetizer. Great service. But unfortunately, the rib eye was less than an inch thick and was overcooked. My wife's halibut was also overcooked. I don't think it was worth the price. The service was attentive and slow paced (a good thing for fine dining), we did not feel rushed. The valet outside deserves a compliment as well.

Simple, excellent, innovative Italian cooking at its best. Superb service in very attractive surroundings. This should be your top choice for Sacramento fine dining. And take home one of Chef Biba's famous recipe books as a souvenir you can really use.

Attended a 40th birthday dinner at Biba's for our son-in-law. My husband and I had a drink in the bar awaiting the families arrival, it was small but excellent service. Our group arrived we had wine, gifts, dinner and dessert was very delicious. Biba even visited our table what a gracious lady.

This is an old-school Italian restaurant with all the charm and grace of fancy restaurants from decades ago. The food is consistently excellent. True Italian dishes prepared in the "momma-in-the-kitchen" style. The red sauces are outstanding. This is a great place for date night. Your date will feel special.

This is some sophisticated pasta, as you might expect from a restaurant that's been going for nearly 30 years. The staff is all there for 10+ years as well, some almost since the start. The Thursday/Friday only Lasagna was insanely good. I don't even like lasagna and it was screaming good. The pasta app was amazingly delicate and flavorful. The... More
