A Classic

The food here is very good. Ambience is old style semi-formal. There is a 3 course dinner for $55 a good value. Service was excellent. Good selection of wines, on the pricey side.

I have had lunch on the patio several times and it's always lovely with trees and flowers all around. Service is outstanding and food choices are interesting, fresh and change periodically. The beautiful brick building and old wood inside reminds you of the great history in Old Sacramento. The bar is especially fun - like a luxurious Old West saloon!

I loved the brisket and pimento cheese dip. Family friendly. The restaurant was once a fire hall. The decor was eclectic of a fire station. Fun place to try.

The service is great. The food was better than I have ever eaten. The salmon was delicious. My husbands pork chop was about an inch thick and juicy. My son-in-laws steak looked perfect and cooked exactly as asked for. I have never had cucumber sorbet but now I am looking for recipes that will come close to theirs. It was... More

We had a celebration of birthday's at The Firehouse. I have to say we were treated with the utmost respect and service was spot on. The food was great and we were not shock at the purchase price of such an event. The six of us ate and drank and really enjoyed ourselves. The Firehouse employees made the experience utterly... The Firehouse has been around for decades and unfortunately has done little to stay relevant. Service is kind of old school and stuffy and the menu is pretty much like going back to the 80's. Beautiful facility but really needs some updating. For my money it is highly overpriced.

The Firehouse, in Sacramento's Old Town, is a classic continental eatery with a long history. It's a very nice restaurant in all ways, but the experience leaps into something special in the charming courtyard. The below-street-level brick and ivy venue evokes New Orleans at its most charming. Our party tried a variety of dishes, including fish tacos, a steak salad,... More

I was here for a group dinner with a pre ordered menu so I can't speak to the regular menu, but if the group food was any indication the menu is probably great. The food and service were both impeccable. There are great banquet halls downstairs, with their own bar as well. The appetizers were bruschetta and mini beef wellington.... More

It was nice to get dressed up and enjoy the beautiful interior of this historical gem. Food was on par with what you'd expect from a fine dining experience such as this. Loved that we could bring a bottle of wine we had been saving. Not an astronomical corkage fee. Service was easily some of the best service we have... More

Once upon a time, before there was an attraction called Old Town Sacramento, there was a fleabag slum area with a pristine white Victorian era firehouse turned restaurant, and it was one of the few high cuisine sorts of places in the urban city. Fast forward 40 years and Old Town has become a t-shirt, cotton-candy, hot dog sort of... More
