The Firehouse is very old school elegant and romantic. Oversized oil paintings, beautiful chandeliers, elegantly set tables. Superbly trained servers and staff deliver discrete, highly professional service. Cocktails are very good. Wine list is amazing - extensive selection, intelligently curated. Wine prices reflect a higher mark-up than many comparable restaurants. The artichoke tortellini first course was delicious and surprisingly light,... More

After seeing all the uber modern hipster restaurants mushrooming all around, this classy establishment has become quite a breath of fresh air actually. This place is absolutely romantic, and the food is always soooo good. For special occasions, I'd highly recommend this place!

After a long drive, we checked into our hotel, went to Old Sacramento to eat and chose The Firehouse. The food was good but the prices were outrageous (entrees started at $23 for basic chicken and zoomed up to the $30's to $50's for seafood and steak), and it did not include even a basic dinner salad (an extra $7).... I hosted some visiting Japanese colleagues for a business dinner here. The reservation system was very efficient and flexible, since we had to make several last minute changes. In fact, the service was excellent overall. The food was also very good, and the waiter went to great lengths to time everything to match our rather difficult schedule. Some of us... More

The food was good, but not for the hefty price tag. The portions were large which was a plus, but the environment was a bit pretentious. I am happy to have gone once to experience this restaurant, but once was more than enough.

This is a fair restaurant in the touristy old Sacramento that is very expensive but only fair in quality. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.

And off course we enjoyed every bit of the food. The staff was great and our waitress was fantastic.she made sure what kids would like and served the food all the way with great... More

I have only been here once. The service and decor were wonderful. I just didn't feel the creativity. Food-wise. Ho-hum. I was glad I wasn't flipping the bill!

The location is nice. The food is good. However, it is very expensive. I've had meals that were just as good for a lot less money.

I never wanted to eat at this landmark restaurant in Old Sac, how good could it be? Thought it would be stuffy and filled with old timers. The evening I had dinner there, they had just introduced a new menu. I didn't want to experiment, so I ordered a chicken dish. It was amazing, excellent quality, great flavor. Service was... More
